Master ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Went to the Dr, had an x-ray. Definitely have a Posterior Tibialis Muscle/Tendon issue. Sending me for a bone scan tomorrow to rule out stress fracture as x-ray was inconclusive. DR orders no impact on leg stronger then walking. Cycling if no pain is okay. Swimming if I don't push off too hard is okay. Should know results of bone scan not too long after procedure. Feels he can be aggressive in rehab if just a Posterior Tibialis issue. Gave me some strength and stretching exercises for now. Couldn't run if wanted to at this point. No strength in left leg to push off in stride. Looks like it might be a bike and swim focus month. Have to see what I can do about Tri next week. Will see if they will credit me for a later race in season or alternatively I will just do swim and bike and then DNF. Sorry to hear about your crash - think E has said it before - and he is correct - there are those have have crashed on their bike and those that have not crashed YET. It happens to all of us. Sounds like you are mostly okay? |

I seem to be fine. Woke up this morning with nothing worse than slight tightness on one side of my neck from what I assume is whiplash. Could definitely have been worse. Embarrassingly, the cause of the crash was my inattention... I was check behind me that the traffic was clear to take a corner fast, turned back round and realised I'd drifted into the curb. Saw it coming and couldn't do anything about it. Clipped the curb and landed up going over my head with the bike still attached to my feet. Fortunately landed on some very soft grass at the side of the road, which was extremely forgiving. Going to do a thorough check of my bike tonight to assess the damage. |

This morning had another Masters Swim. I'm only accounting for an hour of the time... Still needing to have help decoding his workouts. I have been able to do the longer stretches of swims. Not fast but the endurance is building. Going a bit earlier on Friday and hopefully I can get more than half the workout done in the time.

I'm in the same boat. In my class the instructor prints out instructions for each lane with lines like 300x2, :10 rest, 5:45 FBF. Everyone assumes you know what all these terms mean, and there are a billion of them. I just say things like "I have no idea what any of this means" to the instructor. She's used it now and explains it. |
