I'll be up early tomorrow on the bike between 5:30 and 5:45 (ET) riding Zwifts Watopia Island for about 2 hours. I welcome any company if anyone wants to join me. I'm back riding under my fitness screen name Trisuppo. It shows in Zwift as ..Trisuppo

6 mile run yesterday and 2 hours on the bike this morning. Had bunch of technical difficulties on Zwift this morning. Won the green jersey straight up this time.

Everyone please update your April totals and then I'll update the yearly tally. We should all be getting into a groove (Northern Hemisphere teammates) with the spring season progressing and summer rapidly appearing on the horizon.

6.1 mile runch yesterday 55:30 and 35 minutes on Zwift Island today. Trying to get a good start after a horrible April. I am still dealing with the cold that never ends.

recovery day today, S/B/R from Friday and race from yesterday - not a PR at 5:46 but best executed race yet; especially pleased with bike performance.

Now I need to improve the run - any suggestions on how to improve run, especially the last few miles where I always struggle?

I try swearing alot under my breath and cursing that I hate running, I also ask for Rum to go with the Coke when they offer it at the aid stations - I cant really vouch for the success of my efforts though.

Adding a 60min mountain bike ride. First of the year and I have to say that it was very hard fought to get 20km in for the hour combining some technical trails along with some road.

Adding Saturdays brick and todays easy pace bike workout. I am beginning the taper for my first Olympic triathlon this weekend. My hope is that all the moons align and I am able to reach my goal of a sub 3 hour OLY. I believe this to be a realistic goal, my training has been consistent across all three disciplines, I have ZERO pains or injuries and I'm down to a good race weight of 210lbs.(this is really good for me). My first race of the year and I'm super excited to get my season going!

I looked at your yearly totals and they are indeed quite even across the board. It looks like your are in pretty good shape, good luck on the race.

37:08 run yesterday, 4mi negative splits plus cool down. First run with the Fenix3 - in general the watch is awesome but the pace function was all over the place during the run. Any time I was under tall trees the pace would slow way down, presumably because the watch is losing GPS signal. this is really frustrating as it's the main reason I wear a watch when I run. Oddly I've never had a problem with the pace function on my Garmin Forerunner 110 which is a significantly cheaper watch. Next run I'm going to try using the GLONASS feature as it's supposed to help with accuracy (albeit at the expense of some battery life), and if that doesn't work hopefully there will be some forthcoming firmware updates that resolve the issue. I'm not giving up on it yet as I love everything else about it so far. I'll post a better review after I get a few more uses in.

I'm loving my Garmin Fenix 3 and now use it all the time.  I have not had any issues with the pace function and have used it now for a 1/2 Mary in Korea with some tunnels and a full Mary in Dusseldorf last week and it worked great (without having to use Glonass).  Also use it for my bike workouts and even this this weekend for a 5k OWS (longest swim ever) and it worked without a hitch.  Just make sure that you have the latest firmware and that you are waiting for the watch to synch with the satellite (the bezel turns green and sometimes for me it takes more than a minute).

For regular use I find it very convenient to have the phone message notifications on your wrist without having to check my phone, especially during business meetings

Your training plan is a guide but you don’t blindly follow it. You shouldn’t know exactly what you are going to do until the day you are to do it.
