I think I might actually take a day off.  I'll probably do some strength training and probably go for an easy hike with one of the dogs and Tina.  Which involves a little 4x4 action, which makes me happy.

Had a pretty good weekend although I am rarely on my computer over the weekends to post much.  Had a good long run on Saturday with the last half at HIM race pace and felt really good.  Sunday I rode for 75 minutes with a long portion between 93-97%FTP.  Also played hockey last night.

I am going to either head to the pool or hop on the bike this afternoon.  Nothing to exciting.

I just noticed I only have 16 weeks until the HIM in June.  Need to start getting longer rides in now I think.  I would like to be closer to 2 hours with a fair bit of intensity for my weekend long ride.  My run is probably ahead of schedule so thinking of including another swim workout to get back to 3x week.

Morning all.

Started this morning with an utter fail of a workout. Meant to have done 2x20' @ 100-105% HR on the bike this morning but could only manage 2' of the second 20! Bit undecided if I'll try again tomorrow or not as it's meant to be an unload week to prepare for a test session next Monday.

On another note, swim workout on Sunday had me doing some sets at T-Pace +:03. How are you supposed to judge how much to slow down by to only add 3 secs to your 100m times? I was pretty much spot on target for the sets @ T-Pace but anything up to 6 secs off on the +:03's.

I would not do the 2x20 again tomorrow.  That is a tough workout...some days ya got it some days not.  It happens to everybody.  I would say the workout was not a fail...you got 20' at FTP and that is still a good thing .

The swim pacing is just something that comes from swimming alot.  You will learn to dial it in over time.

Funnily enough, so do I (it's on the same day as yours!)

Which race are you doing?

It's a new race in the U.K. called The Valhalla. Thankfully I've been told that the area is pretty flat (It's about 100miles away from where I live so can't really pop by to check it out beforehand)

Well a week after my Achilles injection I am actually much worse than prior to the injection.

Definitely frustrating.

Grrrrr....

From my limited understanding, the point of the injection is to not only deliver platlette rich plasma to the injury to help it heal but also to create inflamation, right? If so, that inflamation (pain) might be a good thing. Is it possible you had the shots too close together?

No tri training this weekend, but a two tank wreck dive, lots of snorkeling, and lots of walking around

This week, it's back to the training grind - and getting the boyfriend ready for his movers (he's taking some of my stuff like dishes, a spare TV and stuff, because his current place is furnished, and where we move in AZ will not be furnished).

I got a call yesterday - I'm being flown to Tucson for an interview sometime soon! More info on that when it's a reasonable time in AZ.

Good Morning - I got an early 65 minute ride on the bike this morning and did 4x8' Threshold intervals at 100%FTP.  I felt pretty good on these.

I am hoping to get a short run in a little later but it might not happen.  The rest of the week looks pretty good though.

Is anybody looking at these FLO wheels?  They just started their launch yesterday and I have been looking at the 60 front.  I was just planning to throw a disc wheelcover on my stock Felt TTR2 rear and have a nice little setup for under $500.

They say that a 90 front is not as fast as the 60 if you are averaging under 24 mph which I thought was interesting.  I was around 22.5-23.0 mph in my Olympic races last year so I guess it makes sense to go with the 60.

Not sure what the time gap from order to receipt is going to be but it may be ugly.  That is my only concern.
