But, I'm not disappointed. I kind of knew that it was going to be a stretch to run the race I wanted, but sometimes you have to take what you can get. I think being sick this week took it's toll on me, but overall I did alright. 1:54:17 was my chip time.
1:54 -- SMOKIN'! Good going. I'm sorry it's not a PR but it's a nice time nonetheless. Way to push through! |

I certainly hope that you ate not still peeing each time you drink something :0Good news, I finished my HM today! Bad news, I didn't PR. But, I'm not disappointed. I kind of knew that it was going to be a stretch to run the race I wanted, but sometimes you have to take what you can get. I think being sick this week took it's toll on me, but overall I did alright. 1:54:17 was my chip time. WARNING TMI: I have to share this with my fellow Manatees because I know you'll appreciate the grotesque nature of what happened to me during the race. O.k., so I did my normal bathroom thing before the race like everyone else. I'm feeling good at the start, ready to go. Once the race started, it was at around mile 3 when I started taking in some fluids. At mile 5, I took in more fluids and I literally (I kid you not) involuntarily peed. It just came out! Well, no one noticed because with all the sweating and sprinklers, everyone was wet. But here's the weird thing. EVERY time I would take in fluids, I peed. The other weird thing, is, it's not like I had the urge to go, it just would come out. I guess at some point I could have just found a port o potty, but I honestly didn't care at that point because I was already soaked. This has never happened before, so either my bladder is getting old or I was so over hydrated that I was gonna pee no matter where I was. I guess I'm glad I didn't poop my pants, but geesh, now I might as well be in the club of: Those people who soil themselves during races.
Thanks! Everything is under control now.
Great race. Way to race through adversity :-) |

I now have a dilemma as it's 7.30am and NOT raining, Sooooo, should i go out for a bike ride whilst it's quiet oooorr should i nurse my hangover and go out around 10ish when i can just see one of everything??
My wife and I are planning/hoping to do a trip over next summer, we are definitely meeting up. |

Coastal Carolina | Subject: RE: Yanti & Salty MAD MANATEES Mentor Group - FULL POD Ok well today was a long day for me...
Went with the wife to Dragon Boat, charity for cancer lots of fun look into it, and we got there early with the plan that I would do a couple of hours of bridge repeats, the Cooper River Bridge is a bridge 200 or so feet above the Cooper River that has a dedicated bike AND pedestrian lane. The ride went well did three laps and kept a decent speed/effort up the inclines but on more than one descent, I was hitting 30+ mph, I had people refuse to move out of my way, almost took out a couple of kids that I really didn't want to but I kept yelling/screaming that I was behind/on the left but they wouldn't move!! I didn't though so all is good, had to rant though.
Afterwards I was able to shower since the dragon boat was across the street from the station, did run into the Chief while all decked out in biking gear but he is supporting me in the tour next week so could have been worse and then decided to relax and enjoy a margarita while DW was paddling. Nope someone left and DW's boss came to tell me I had to paddle... Good thing tequila and I are like Spinnach and Popeye Good day was had by all. Also picked up some rain gear for the ride next week, I didn't have any because, well, honestly I don't ride in bad weather unless I'm at work and they give us stuff for that... |

Extreme Veteran 536 | Subject: RE: Yanti & Salty MAD MANATEES Mentor Group - FULL POD Good night. Best pizza in New England and beers with a friend, then walking at the Crane Estate in Ipswich with friend and her adorable doggie: You walk from the Great House down over the hills then down a path to the beach. It's gorgeous! My friends lives in the property's gate house. |

Extreme Veteran 536 | Subject: RE: Yanti & Salty MAD MANATEES Mentor Group - FULL POD Awesome job, Claire! I would kill for a sub-2:00 HM! THat is amazing. SO weird about the peeing, though! You know you are hard core when you just pee while you run. That's how you hit a sub-2, lol! All the elites are doing it. |

Extreme Veteran 536 | Subject: RE: Yanti & Salty MAD MANATEES Mentor Group - FULL POD Sorry for all the photos, but this one is amazing. This is the Great House, and across the water is Plum Island, which stretches about 14 miles along the coast. The enterance to the reservation on PLum Island, by car, is about 20 miles from the Crane Estate (so by car, this tip would be about 34 miles away by car)! I just love this part of the North Shore (of Mass), I think it's so beautiful. |

Extreme Veteran 536 | Subject: RE: Yanti & Salty MAD MANATEES Mentor Group - FULL POD Question: I'm checking out the Xterra's, and I am right on the cusp betweenn sizes. I'm currently 3 lbs over the Women's Med size (following a weekend of heavy drinking and 2 weeks of minimal exercise) and by the time I"m wearing it will prob. be down the 3 lbs. I don't want it to be too big, do you think I should order the exact size I am now, or presume that by the end of May I'll be in the Women's Med range? Help! Thanks! |

Size up for comfort ... size down for speed. Personally, I'd go with the Medium ... I've worn wetsuits well under my size without a problem. They are made to stretch. You may need to take more care in putting it on and they do feel squeezy in the middle, but ... yeah. |

Master 2770 Central Kansas | Subject: RE: Yanti & Salty MAD MANATEES Mentor Group - FULL POD I've had an unbelievably busy day -- we were going all day long. Fortunately, I was able to get out and get my run in first thing in the morning. I didn't really feel like it, but I knew if I didn't do it, I wouldn't have time later -- that was absolutely true. I'm looking forward to my day of rest tomorrow -- I'm still hoping for a bike ride in the morning, and I'm probably hoping beyond hope that the swimming pool will be open one more day. I know it is closed during finals week, so I will be going a few weeks without a swim. :-( Genuinely makes me sad. |

I've had that peeing thing happen before--I've called it UPS (Uncontrollable Peeing Syndrome) in race reports. Unfortunately, in some cases, it's lasted past the race You did AWESOME not feeling 100%! |
