I had a piece of chicken late last night and then I took some Dayquil liquid this morning, which I told them about.

We had a Biometrics screening today at work where they tested the following: Cholesterol, LDL, HDL, Triglycerides, blood pressure and Fasting Glucose.

According to these ladies that ran the test, by poking my finger and running the blood sample through a portable little machine I have desirable cholesterol, borderline high LDL (bad cholesterol) low HDL cholesterol, great triglycerides and pre diabetes level glucose (normal is 60-99, I had 109). And they said I was overweight.

Only reason I did this was to save $250 on my insurance, but I still have a hard time believing the results and believing that I am borderline for som many things according to this little machine!

my husband has the bad HDL LDL balance issue every time he gets checked.  some people just have that.  be aware of it and talk to your doctor about it the next time you see them.  same with glucose.  if anything, it's better to know these things.  some people can't exercise this stuff away and if you don't know about it you can't do anything about it (by modifying your diet, unfortunately!).

except the being overweight.  that is obviously based on a BMI calc which for fit people, is useless.

it's not a terrible thing to do.  most likely they will just say "you are fine but we'll keep an eye on these things."  keep track of the numbers for when your employer does the biometric screening again next year.

I told my wife that I would get a physical after my 140.6. I am always afraid that they will find something and it will be something that is not a big deal until they find, then its a big deal and they say I can;t race or something.  just the way my head works sometimes
