So which ones do you consider a good quality BBQ sauce?

I use Sweet Baby Ray's. I know Kraft makes a sauce that is much cheaper, but it really caramelizes and doesn't taste as good.

I was doing some poking around the internet. People like Stubb's bbq sauce, which I used to get, and liked, they just don't carry it at my grocery store anymore. Also Bullseye seemed to be popular as well. There were also good things said about the SBR's, too.

So....

We are getting several pieces of new network equipment at work that will need to be installed. Lots of cables to run, etc.

We have had 2 people leave our group in the last 6 months, but this has had no impact on my workload, they were both in NJ and I am not. Yesterday afternoon my boss sends out an email to our entire group welcoming the guy from the other department that I don't like onto our team, and puts him in charge of the project with all this new equipment. I was pizzed.

1) I wish my boss would have discussed this with me first a) because there is no reason I can't handle it by myself b) why is this guy the lead on the project?

2) A heads up at least would have been nice

3) this guy is older, and a mormon, and doesn't see women as equals

On the way home I was on the phone with my boss and we were both pizzed off when the call ended. Just last week I had sent him an email asking for more respnsibilities, telling him I really didn't have enough to do to keep me busy for 40 hours a week, and he goes and does this. Last night I got serious about finding a new job. I sent out some resumes, some more will go out the rest of the week. I knew the good ol' boys club existed here in Chambersburg, I just didn't realize it reached all the way to NJ. Very disappointing.

Morning Ghoulies.

A misty, rainy day here. I could have slept for a lot longer this morning.

I am sorry. It is like a punch in the stomach when that happens. It has been my world for 26.5 years now. Even when you expect it, being a victim of the GOB network sucks. I have been passed over for several jobs, as recent as a month ago, for men who are less experience than me. It never gets easier being thought of as a lesser being. I cannot imagine how other minorities feel, it must be 10000 x worse.

IT IS COMPLETE AND TOTAL BS!!!

I'm sure like you, I've had to work harder than any guy would have had to to get where I am. On several occasions I've been the token female interview for jobs. I've had jobs I worked at on a temp basis where I couldn't get hired full time because I 'wasn't qualified' and a guy was hired. How could I not be qualified when I've done the damn job for 2 years? It's just so damn frustrating. And to make it worse I was in a bad mood last night and I snapped at Keri. She made dinner for everyone and even served me my dinner in my recliner. I feel horrible about that.

It does indeed suck beyond belief. I hate when work washes over the home life like that. I have no idea how to fix the problem  overall, just keep plugging along and trying to move forward. I do know if I let them get me down- THEY win. I do not want them to win!

Dang Dee. I hope your cold repelling tactics work and it is just plain gone today. Good for you (giant gold star) for warning folks.

I am so  sorry about all the frustrations at work.  That is such a tough thing to deal with.

Keri is such a sweetheart.  Apologize to her and she will understand.  It sure stings when we take out our frustration at home.  I hate it when I do that.  (And I hate it when DH does that!) Undecided

Yes, because my throat is still sore.  People are closed up with me in a small room.  Some people don't care at all (as long as I am not coughing dripping etc!).  Others are more cautious because of their own health or the fact that they care for elderly parents.  I don't think anyone will cancel today.  I had to leave some messages, so I havent heard back from all.

Well if you have any cancellations I could use a massage today so see if you can fit me in.

I am about ready to explode!

Now we are no longer allowed to wear jeans to work, and we are also supposed to wear button down shirts, or nice sweaters. Do the people making these decisions even know what some of us do at work. I can't rack equipment, or crawl through floors wearing nice clothes. Those button down shirts have no give in the shoulders, it's insane. Sweaters aren't good for IT people because of the static discharge (it's not a good thing around sensitive electronic components). It's like they're trying to make people quit their jobs.

Was supposed to run this morning.  It is nice and cool, only 58*F.  Supposed to be 81* this afternoon.  But I am tired, throat hurts, and I guess it's too easy for me to accept an excuse not to exercise.  Too late now to run & get cleaned up and to work on time.  Also just don't want to stress my body any more while fighting this cold.  Hard to know which way is would go ....  clear the cold out of my body  or  let my body fully succumb to the cold.

Ah well, inaction has made the decision for today.....

Take a break. If you're already tired I don't think running is going to help you. Plus running with a sore throat doesn't sound enjoyable. REST

We are going to see Les Miserables (the play not the movie) tonight.

It is not my absolute favorite, but it is still a good one. Oh, and I FINALLY got a run in Laughing

Morning Ghoulies!

Happy Friday Eve.

The show was good. Actually, really good. The Flat Rock Playhouse is really close to broadway quality productions. My only beef is two of the actors kept using a Cockney accent. Come on folks, it is in FRANCE. Ever since Eliza Doolittle, everyone seems to think that street folk in the 1800s have English accents. This was not just a "reality conflict", you could not understand a word that they said because of that stoopid accent!

Good morning Ghoulies from Hilton Head. I hear the ocean waves calling to me and my boogie board.

The university has set up a call to me at 9am thus morning. They also asked my current salary. Here's hoping that after this call I have a job offer.
