Well another small run today. I have decided that I don't hate the cold temps as much as I thought...oh don't get me wrong they SUCK, but at least the roads are clear so you can run. Have a great friday.

fifthcircle - 2008-02-13 6:52 PM Thanks for the advice on tracking distance. I am always running with my iPod Nano, so I might try the Nike + thingy. I have been reading that it works just fine when attatched to the laces on non-nike shoes. Plus, it gives you encouragement during your run and will track times and distances via the iPod. Pretty cool gadget! -Kurt

I use the route planner here - before I found it I used Stepwhere.com and Bikely.com to plot my routes out...

I logged 3.5 miles today, putting me at 48%.  I am headed off for the long weekend for skiing in Lake Placid, so I won't be doing anything until Tuesday.

Congrats on those people that are already showing 50% or more completed......Kurt, Kristen, Judi and Amy,  Way to go!, woo hoo.

congrats

Just checking in...  after this morning's walk, I'm at 70% of my goal.   As of Friday I was up to 1100 strides of running in my daily 5 kilometers walk.  It is starting to feel good.   I backed off from running this morning because I felt a little soreness above my right knee.  That is now gone (knock on wood).

I too love sushi and living in the land of sushi makes it easy (not cheap) to enjoy some of the best.    Hummus - also great stuff.   Jelly beans - a couple, but I try to avoid the sweets.   I decided long ago that I could either enjoy alcohol calories or dessert calories.

 Have a great weekend everyone!

Hm, probably shouldn't use the term "ROCK" when there's a team with that in their name already.

The route tracker is pretty easy, you draw out the route and it calculates the distance.  When you use that route just use the pull down tab and you enter the times. What I find hard is getting the map to a size where I can see the roads and draw my rouets right--if anyone pulled my maps you would think I couldn't color in the lines! Most of the loops I run are variations on a theme and the roads are pretty curvey so it doesn't lend itself to crazy hairpin turns.

You have to actually create the route at the "add new route" button. Once you create it on the map you will save it and name it. I use firefox as a browser and have to switch over to internet explorer for that. Not sure why, but my firefox hates maps

Yup! Dcon fixed it. Thanks!

FWIW, all you have to do is enter your current amount, and hit enter.

Everything else will update automatically. (The percentage and team percentage are calculated by the spreadsheet.)

Also, I have it set to update and save the spreadsheet every time you enter your info. So there's nothing "special" that needs to be done.

Nah, it's fine. Other teams have had "spreadsheet issues," too. LOL

I purposely made the spreadsheets simple. That way, they can be fixed easily when they get messed up.

Don't forget to update the spreadsheet with your current information by tonight!

I'll compile the results tomorrow morning, and post the current team standings.

Glad to see that you're all okay and running!  I know the illness thing has been sweeping a lot of folks out of training lately.  One of my co-workers is doing a marathon soon and may have pneumonia.  This guy can't get a break, every time he trains for a big race he gets sick or injured and has to withdraw!  He had shin splints that went into stress fractures last year and he missed the Richmond marathon.

Kurt,I have a cat that needs pills every day and if he took his pills willingly it would be a miracle--but I do get a kick out of I Can Has Cheeseburger pictures
