Here is mine. Nothing changed yet from the way she came yet and can't ride her until the snow melts. Was too bright out to get a very good photo.

I can't believe how incredibly light this bike is!

I got the Parma and I will put some pictures up when I get all of my changes made.  Changing saddle, tires, rims, and adding bottle cages (of course).  Should have before and after mid next week or so.

I am not sure I like the aero bars.  I have t2's on my other bike and the Slams feel a little too short and I can't seem to get it set up so I like the comfort.  I am used to my arms laying flat and outstretched a little.  With the slams, my arms are tighter to my body and my forearms are on the pads vs. under my elbows with the T2's.  It may be a matter of getting used to them, and time will tell, but I definitely have a more aggressive position on the Parma.

Let me add my thanks to the Bear. I caught this thread late but called just in case. They didn't have much left in my size, but they did have one Parma...should be here the end of the week.

Consider I've been training on a hybrid and using a friends road bike for races this is a major step up. I'd been holding off to buy a new tri-bike but the funds just are not there at this time.

Thanks again Bear.

McFuzz bought me a parma and himself a fara.  His is fine but I'm too short in the britches for mine so he ordered a set of 160 crank arms and a smaller stem.  Hopefully they will be in by the end of the week and we can post some porn of our own!

I didn't find this thread until today and I've been searching for a decent, affordable bike for my sister for months. I sent her the link and she called and they had one in her size! She scored the Parma in a 51 and it should be here Thursday or Friday. This is her first road bike and I'm so psyched for her.

Those that have already received their Parma, did it come with a double or a triple? And can we have pics????

It actually comes with a 50/36 comp, so best of both worlds for a newer biker - 9 speed casette, by the way.  Upgrading to a 10sp would be easy enough, however, as campy is made to interchange.  You would need a 10 sp cassette, a new right lever or campy makes a part to convert a 9 to a 10, and a new chain.  The RD and FD can handle either 10 or 9 speed, so you don't have to worry about that.  I will post a picture of my Parma tonight, as it was when it arrived.  I am making upgrades, so I will post another when I get them done (end of the week?)

I've been looking EVERYWHERE for a bike...something inexpensive yet fairly good for a first road bike. I've looked on craigslist, ebay, at local bike shops, etc. This just seems like THE best deal out there right now. I just called and they still have a Parma in my size...I'm taking the plunge! I'll post pictures when I get it set up and ready to ride! I'm so freakin excited!

Thanks for the info! I wasn't sure and my sister is very much a newbie and I was concerned about gearing for her but a compact should be fine.

Looking forward to pics!

I received my parma about a week ago, took it to the bike shop and have ridden it twice since then! This is my first road bike and like most people on here, I was just looking to break into the road bike scene with a good deal. This was definitely it!

My camera is down, so no pics, but it is more than I could have hoped for, for the price I paid!

Now if only I could find a similar deal on a wetsuit...

Hope everyone else enjoys theirs,

Ken

The FedEx just pulled up in front of my house and I was so stoked. Unfortunately it was for a delivery across the street. Oh well, tomorrow should be the day. I can't wait! Congrats to those that have purchased and received them!

OK - this is it before the update - pic is terrible - it will soon have a red saddle, red bar tape, red & black wheels and red bottle cages.  You may call him Herschel.

Can you post a pic of the front cableing? I gotta call them today. My seatpost on the Parma is not black, and on that bike looks really out of place. The barrel adjusters appear not to work?

Other than that great bike at a great price.

EDIT: Dang just noticed your front fork has the zero logo mine does not Hmmmm.. Is your fork a matte or gloss finish?

Looking through the paperwork, looks like the fork is made by Advanced Int'l Multi-tech Co., LTD

Hmmm..

Waiting on a stem and cranks for the Parma, but got some of the accessories attached.  (Sorry, no pics.

The Fara clocks in at 20.5 pounds on my home scales.

The whole bike is in a matte finish, including the fork, which is a zero.  The paint job almost feels like a powder coat when you touch it.  I could do without the website on the chainstay, as I think that looks kind of tacky, but a guy at my shop is working on something for that.

I thought the front cableing was weird.  When I received the bike, the ergo shifters were already placed and wrapped with the cables coming out in the middle of the bars with a bit of cable guard on them and then just cable extending for a long enough section to get them to the derauilers.  To get ecverything to work correctly, I had to use a piece that was included in the packaging that looks like a tube of pasta, about 1 1/2" long and wide enough at the ends for a cable protector and end cap to fit into.  When you slide it in to each end and then place the protecter, as it goes back into the holding bracket, it gets very tight and the whole thing holds together well under various turn angles.  I would have preferred that they run the original cable protector in one piece long enough to get to the first bracket, but this works as well.  Just don't shorten the second cable protector.  Put it in there full size, although it will seem like too much at the start of the process.

I will take a picture of it tonight when I get home so you can see it.

Sounds the same.

The reason the housing is split in two pieces is so you can put the barrel adjusters in there. But mine appear not to work.

Does your fork have the Zero Logo on it? as you can see from my pic mine does not but I see others do. My paperwork had a Fork instructions from Advanced Int'l Multi-tech Co. that talks about painting it.

Mine came devoid of any paperwork at all except for the component group.  It is a Zero Logo on the fork that came on it, though.

Thanks for the pictures! I sent my sister the link so she could see them. That matte black finish looks so cool.

One more question, were the aerobars loose in the box or attached to the handlebar? I'm the one putting it together so I just wanted to know what I should expect. Thanks!

I have been looking for a good road bike lately and stumbled upon this thread, and found the prices to be amazing. Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone could help me choose between the Gard or Parma...Which equipment is superior on each bike? Are the aero bars the way to go?...I see the last couple of people chose the parma, was that because it was the best choice? or were the other bikes out of stock? I called yesterday and one of the guys said they have both the bikes in a 57 (my size)....Just wanting some feedback so I can choose. Thanks! Kyle

Well I have seen both the Parma and the Garda.

the Rear Derailur is one step up in the Garda, the Seat post is Carbon Fiber. It is a different frame and has a highgloss finish as apposed to the matte black of the Parma.

The Garda is lighter than the Parma.

The Brakes are black not chromed on the Garda.

I went with the Parma cause this is not my only bike and I wanted something low cost.

Depending on how you look at the cost the difference is only ~$150 or you could say the Garda cost 50% more than the Parma.

If it were to be my only road bike I would go with the Garda. Since I want something more kinda like a beater bike I went with the Parma (Looks cheaper, but really is not).

They have the same shifters, but they look somewhat cheap on the Garda fit right in on the Parma.

Ok...so basically the garda has the better rear derailleur...and carbon fiber seat post with a lighter frame...Aside from those things most of the shifting components and brakes are the same? what about wheels and tires? same? I know the obvious answer is go with the more expensive bike because it is better lol....but sometimes that isn't the case...sometimes the more expensive one requires more maintenance ect...so would you suggest with this being my dominant bike, to go with the garda? Thanks for the help dayhamm.

In short YES. If the price difference is not a big deal. The Parma is also a great bike.

The tires, and hubs are different on the Garda, but I can't remember the wheels.

Here is the complete component list. Well its attached. Darn to big here is a link.
