Sherm,  I didn't see any water in that list.  Don't forget that it can be fun to be somewhat sober around the drunks,  they are fun to watch.

Unless your holding back someone else's hair all evening, or constantly cleaning off your shoes. Then who's having fun...?

sounds like you speak from experience josh lol

I've got plenty!!! Not all of which I'm proud of. Unless there's 151 which = weightloss!

Ok, so my activity level is pretty high today. Earlier my dad and I punched about 20 holes using an 80lb 2-man auger (split rail fence and deck foundation holes). It was like deadlifting a pair of 80 lb dumbbells (held at side) while they vibrate for 5-6 min at a time, x 20. My forearms, lower back, and pelvis are killing me. As soon as we got home, I jumped into a hot shower and crashed for about 5 hrs. I couldn't even eat dinner till later on. To add an insult to injury it was close to 90 F in the shade. I must have downed close to 2.5 liters of water in the 3.5 hrs we worked. Then we lugged 80lbs of dry cement (quickcrete) to the holes (20 of them!) I was sooo exhausted. Now I have my training to hurdle. Tonight it's Chest, Shoulders, and Triceps, + an ab routine, then another 58 min, stretch routine. I'm hoping by wed, I'll weigh next to nothing... (crossing fingers)

Hey everyone!

My DH and DD and I are going on vacation tomorrow. We are going to the beach and our hotel has a fitness center and pool, so I am hoping to get in some good workouts and not eat too much!

I need to stay focused and not slip into "vacation mentality" that tells me.....aahhh, go ahead and eat whatever you want...you're on vacation.

I am excited to be a part of this group!
uh oh, vacation at the beach. STAY AWAY FROM THE DEEP FRIED FISH. get me every time. just ask anyone here.

oh and by the way, you havent picked on sailing4 yet!!!!!!!!!! get with it girl.

I know. I know my breaking pt., and I have no problems either modifying or calling it quits early. I just don't want the guilt with at least not trying. Thanx for the concern.

Hello after the Weekend! I just realised that I haven't posted the weight goal this month but I think I'm gonna rebel a bit and my goal is a follows: to try and do at least 3 workouts a week.

I'm going cycling with Karen tomorrow and then I think running on Wednesday and then I'm at a conference till Saturday evening- I'll try to control my eating even though it's not the best week for those kinds of promises. I also found a Tri Club which is about 40mins drive from where I live and they seem to be so welcoming- I might actually give it a go but unfortunately not until next week.

38beginner welcome to the group! You definitely chose the "bestest" bunch of people!

Welcome 38! And not only did you choose the 'bestest' bunch, but you also chose the CRAZIEST bunch

Only if you promise to fully join in on the craziness that is Team Skinny

We post monthly goals and then weigh in on Wednesdays. Or Tuesdays because you forget which day it is. Or Fridays if you have had a bad food day on Tuesday and can't bring yourself to get on the scale on Wednesday

Don't freak out because then I'm going to start freaking out for my race on the 22nd. One thing that I've been doing lately is look at race logs. I find it strangely calming. I guess I figure it is preparing me for stuff the training doesn't tell you about. So, I'll be looking forward to reading your race log next week. Here's a race log to get you started:

Also, I figure if I can get through the swim (I can) and muddle through on the bike (I can), then I can always walk the run if I need to

Don't you dare wear a T-shirt!!!!  Wear the pretty tri suit.  Sista, you WILL see folks of ALL shapes and sizes.  My first tri I was soooooooo petrified.  I thought I'd be the "big girl" which is ridiculous because I'm normal sized -- but I hung around runners too long and my idea was skewed.

That's the beauty of triathlon as well, don't let size decieve you.  One of my new found tri friends, who is just awesome, is much bigger than me but she can kick my bee-hind six ways till Sunday.

Be EXCITED!  You'll have so much fun you will be hooked forever.  I have found the tri community to be so welcoming and friendly, and it keeps me coming back for more.  (I mean, yeah, there's the random moron, but where isn't there?)

And, oh, P.S., if you weren't freaking out about your first tri, I'd be worried about you

I didn't get a wink of sleep the night before my first tri and spent most of the night in the bathroom <sigh> but lived to tell about it.

Candice,  Welcome to the group.  I hope you come around and join into the fun.

Maku,  I'M FREAKIN OUT!!  I cannot believe you signed up for a Tri THIS weekend....WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?  Wait a minute I think I know what you were thinking...I trained for this,  I practiced this,  I put in the blood, sweat and tears so that I could do this.  I spent hours in the pool getting chlorine hair,  miles on the bike getting saddle sores and miles on the feet so I could get to the finish line.  I DID THIS TO BE A TRIATHLETE!!!!  That is what you were actually thinking , right?

Hey Candice - all are welcome here in the funhouse.   Mwahahaha!

As for me, I'm not doing strict Medifast for at least the summer as I'm jonesing for a race Way Too Bad.  So, mixing it up a bit, eating 2 regular meals per day, plus 4 "spaceman" food.  Actually, feeling a lot better not as tired and hungry and etc.

Bought a beater Bianchi last night (have you SEEN the price of gas?) to ride around the town on - it'll be good for me and good for my wallet as well.  Gonna get it outfitted with racks etc. this week.  Commuted to work this morning, which was well - cool.  Haven't done that in a long time because of the diet, and I forgot how much I like it.  Of course, going home isn't quite as much fun.  But now I'm here the only way home is to pedal.

I was riding my vintage roadie, but I decided I just wanted something more comfortable and less aggressive if I'm really going to be running errands By Bicycle.  Gonna have to sell it now - which I'm a little sad about, but I don't ride it any more since got my new ride last year.

So... thinking about a super sprint next weekend, but it's $90 so I don't know.  For sure, a sprint tri July 12 (I think) and did my annual Lake Berryessa OW 1 mile swim last weekend which was a lot of fun even though I was really slow.

Last day of School Tomorrow!  Can't wait.

Update...my dad is currently in the middle of open-heart surgery. Got the call last night around 4pm. Got in the car with the monkeys at 7:30pm. Arrived in Illinois at 7:00am (yes that is 13 hours of driving...the flights weren't working out), just before he went into surgery.

Waiting to hear more, but my access will be sketchy and I don't know when I'm coming back.

Ok. Up until right this minute (well actually about half an hour ago) I was really nervous about the biking portion of the race. I couldn't do my workout this morning because of a massive headache. After about 15 minutes on the bike I thought I was going to throw up. So, I decided I was going to get my bike out for the first time this year (yes, I do realize my race is less than 2 weeks away) and just go. I got home, aired up the tires, raised the seat (because now I know that I was riding too low) put my helmet and glasses on and went.

Last September was the last time I went for a bike ride and I wasn't very good. My balance was horrible and I got tired after about 2 miles. And my behind hurt so much, it discouraged me from riding much.

Today was a completely different story. I started biking and realized instantly that I wasn't struggling as much. My balance is so much better, too. I biked 5.2 miles in 30 minutes. Still not as fast as I want to be, but I'm at least twice as fast as I was last year. I was taking hills that I couldn't take last year either and I even had a headwind! And although my behind (and lady parts - sorry guys) hurt a little, it wasn't that bad

I am no longer worried about my the bike portion of the race. I will be able to get through it. I still might be DFL, but I won't be a DNFr or a DNSr!

Kappie,  Glad to hear you feel better about the bike portion.  I don't think I would have recommended waiting until 2 weeks before the race to air up the tires, but hey if it works it works.  If you ride a bit more your butt and parts will get tougher.  Maybe tilt seat just a tad forward for the "parts".

All right Comet...now I get what you mean about giving him a hard time...Must wait for the perfect opportunity!

I'm at the beach! DH is down in the bar watching the NBA finals, while I have bedtime duty with little DD! We went to the Zoo this morning and I actually sprinted.....to the car because it was about to pour! My DH said he actually had to 'work a little' to catch up to me....yay!

No fried fish yet on this vacation, but I did have some yummy BBQ chicken for dinner! Think of me tomorrow lying on the beach drinking frufru drinks.....I mean......doing an OWS and running on the beach

On another note, sending prayers for the open heart surgery. I am glad you made it there safely.
