tricrazy - 2008-11-12 11:59 AM Hey P.O.G.s!!  Went swimming today and beisdes the idiot who didn't know how to share a lane, it was pretty good.

That stinks!  On Thursday (maybe it was Friday, can't remember) some chick joined in my lane.  I usually don't care.  But on that day, I didn't have my contacts in so I was having enough trouble following the black line without anyone in my lane. (I'm pretty blind!)  If that wasn't bad enough, she  started backstroking!!!!!  WTF???  The lane next to us opened up and I figured she'd move over.  Nope.  Grr.  I did but then a few minutes later, someone else came to share my lane with me.  I really need to learn the fly so I can intimidate people more!!

Got my POG point today.  20 minutes of super easy spinning on the bike and 15 in the weight room.  Got my lift on.  My arms are looking wimpy so it's time to bulk up!

I had a bad lane sharer last week. I watched in stunned silence as he started doing backstroke because he was wandering all over the lane. I decided to get aggressive and started back up with my freestyle. Thankfully, the guy was intelligent enough to switch back to crawl as I neared.

I am sooooooooo all over this challenge! I am so motivated to lose the weight and get fit. I did 50 minutes of running this morning and then 45 minutes of strength training.

Yesterday I ran 60 minutes, and on Sunday did 45 minutes of strength training.

Hey Helen (aquagirl)....what time's dinner?  I soooooo hate cooking, baking, or anything that has to do with preparing food in a kitchen!  I tried baking some homemade choc chip cookies for my hubby once (yes, I said once!) and ended up eating so much of the cookie dough that it made less than half of what it was supposed to.  Who can resist cookie dough, you say?  Yeah but come on....over half of it?!

Ok, as for POG bizness...I wasn't going to run yesterday because that's all I seem to be doing but it was too cold to swim (we only have the outdoor pool here on post) and I didn't want to get on the crappy bike so I ran.  I ended up going longer than I have in a while (4.2 miles) and actually broke the 10 min/mile barrier.  All I can say is....SWEEEEEEEEEEEET!  Finally....it's about time!!!!

As for today, I have to take today off (well, I'm walking for my peach but I can't consider that elligible for a POG point) but I promise I will get my 5 workouts in this week!

I microwaved dinner.  Again.  Yikes, my poor kids.  Hubby got home later and asked what's for dinner.  I just looked at him.  He ordered Pizza Hut.  Nice.  I'm in the running for wife/mom of the year!

Yes, I really cook like this but not every single night...we eat our fair share of takeout when I work nites. But I LOVE to cook and do everything from scratch. I've even made my own sausages one year! And this fall I went on a canning binge and made 50 jars of basil pesto, 24 jars of dill pickles , lots of as well as countless jars of salsa (which my odest son is consuming at an alarming rate!). I figure when my current obsession with triathlon is over I'll go to Cordon Blue cooking school..... Are we all hungry now???

LOL on the salsa!  That one struck a cord with me.  That is the ONLY "vegetable" that my 14 year old son eats!

Ok, ok, ok.  You guys have me laughing my arse off!  I guess that was a bit uncalled for considering the weather ya'll are dealing with, huh?  And yes Erica, it was in the low 80s all day but it was cloudy which makes for a "cold" pool.    From now on I'll have to mind my verbage!

It's a cool morning here in MD (45F, not really so bad). I went out for an easy run and it started to rain lightly. I finished up before the bad stuff started. Tomorrow: swimming. My shoulders and arms are still sore from mtb so I hope it won't be too much of a suffer fest.

I got my swim in this morning and planning on running here soon.  Sort of waiting for a phone call from the hearing teacher from the school.  I hate waiting!!  Might just have to go and call her back if I miss the call.   I have new running tights to try out!

Morning POGers!  TGIF indeed!  What another long week!  Girls Night Out is calling my name!! Course lots to do today before I get there but that is okay.  I really wanted to run this morning but I woke up at 0 dark 30 and it was cold and rainy.  Yuck.  I'll take a rain check!   So, I'm off to spin at the Y then hit the weight room.  If it stops raining I'll get a quick run in before I have to volunteer in Cole's classroom.  Then we have a birthday party to go to.  Yuck.  Then, girl's night out!!!  Can't wait!  Hope you all have a great day!!!!

Oh, forgot to ask, does anyone have any recommendations for cold weather tights??  The ones I have will not do in the super cold weather.  What do you all wear or do I need to HTFU?

I love my Under Armour Frosty tights. I've worn them down to around 20F; I think I layered they for running down to 15F. My Pearl Izumi Amfib tights are also really warm, but they are not as flexible and comfortable for running; they are my coldest weather biking tights.
