Alrighty folks

I'm out.  As previously mentioned, I put my assignments off until the morning they are due.  That leaves 2+ assignments to do in the morning.  And I can't forget the run.  I think that I will get up at 3:30 am, put on my running stuff, head to Denny's, study while eating a couple of eggs, and then head to school for my morning run and class.

Anyone want to join me???

It is a good think I am on the west coast-3:30 isn't quite as soon for me as it is for some of you.

I hear ya on the time diff ~ being in Hawaii, I always feel like I'm a day behind since I don't get to put in my work outs until this time of night (usually after 9pm) which is midnight for the west coast!  I always stop in the morns but then I'm sitting here drinking my coffee while ya'll are done working out and at work!

Anyways...this has nothing to do with this challenge but I got on the elliptical tonight for about 40 mins.  I'm starting to feel yesterdays strength work out in my arms which is sooo not good since I have to do my push up exhaustion test tomorrow for another challenge!  I'll just guzzle lots of water and suck it up, right?!

My name is Nicole. You missed my Monday run: actual challenge miles!

Today was another non-run day. On the plus side I didn't fall off the rollers! (hold your applause!)

Hi Nicole...sorry I missed your run.

I wonder if I would be able to stay on rollers?  I need to decide whether to purchase trainer or rollers.  Any suggestions

A trainer allows you to grind out miles but rollers allow/force you to improve your technique. Rollers improve your balance and your pedaling smoothness; unfortunately, they are a bit nerve racking and are occasionally dangerous when you lose concentration or balance (I've come very close to hurting myself on more than one occasion). I bought a trainer first and used it for years. I still use it when I don't want the "stress" of roller riding or I want to get used to a new position on the bike (I've never tried using my aero bars on the rollers).

Thanks for the input.  I guess I just need to decide if I will want to focus on riding or reading a book while while spinning.

I will be swimming tonight, so that will be my first point for this week.

I think I am going to like this group.  But the thought did occur to me that you people are slightly nuts.  Were you all normal once and then ... ???   Should I be nervous?  Anyway, this all looks like fun and I hope to be able to keep up with the massive posting on three different challenges and threads.

No i am just plain nucking futz, have always been, I was never "normal"  and it is getting worse the older i get, and the more i hang out here on this site.

Welcome to the team!!!

Obviously, my dad thought I was nuts to start triathlon (see my quote line). He died before I did my first but I sometimes think "Take that" after a race (yes, I have some unresolved hostilities )

Melissa, I can watch TV while I ride the rollers as long as the tv is directly in front of me so that I'm pedaling straight towards it; I doubt I could read a book.

I can feel a bit of soreness from the running I've been doing.  I am determined to get my mile back to six minutes, but not on my current route-it is too hilly.  I  mapped my loop-t-loop route on the school campus and, depending on how I take the corners, it is exactly a mile.

I ran one loop this morning pushing it a bit.  My time was 8:29! I run the West and North sides of the upper lots, down the road to the lower lot and across the the south edge, down the East hill to the...I guess that you don't need all the details.  Anyways, there is quite a bit of elevation change.  What I don't like is that some of the sidewalks are in bad condition and, to prevent injury, I need to slow down a bit.

Maybe I could set up my computer with a video hook up and review my lecture powerpoints.  It is awesome that my instructor makes them available online.    I generally avoid TV. It is always on at my parents place and I get more than enough NCIS, Psych, Monk, and Murder She Wrote there.  I also have seen 50 First Dates, Harry Potter, and Without a Clue enough times to recite the lines.

I am the first person in my extended family to take up Tris.  I love it and I am sure I will try to convert everyone else.

It is really sad that my dad is declining so rapidly-He has multiple systems atrophy and a max of 5 years left.  The way he is taking care of himself it he could pass much sooner.

Anyway-he was athletic and always encouraged me to swim, bike, and run.  It would have been awesome to do some tris with him.  At this point he shouldn't even be trying to walk-but he refuses to use a wheelchair and will rarely use his walker.  He is is at least 80lbs over weight right now.

Hey all! I just joined the challenge and got the BEST TEAM!!!!  How lucky is that?

My goal is 16 "workouts" of my Physical Therapy exercises. Long story short - I have a cycling issue, these simple little exercises will help, and yet I can't seem to do them with any regularity.

My trainer is exasperated that I will "do homework for complete online strangers but not for him." He refers to my managing to do all of October's and November's challenge stuff but not my PT. I told him that you guys weren't ALL strange and that I couldn't go around with my blog saying I was a loser.

So... best of both worlds, my PT is now the challenge. Can't let all y'all down, now can I?

Knocker press, Yanti!
