TOPPAGE ;-

Good morning peeps,

I got rid of my sore throat, but have a cough and runny nose instead and I am also not going to run today.... I finally have to get my immune systeme back on track. I am still hoping to get the six missing running sessions in..... should be possible... At my parent's, I don't have access to a gym, so all I am going to do (starting whenever is cough is better) is running and swimming.

Get well to all of those struggling with the bugs.

I'm looking forward to visiting the in-laws.  They live in the Keys.  Warmer weather here I come.  I'll get to run outdoors without worrying about frostbite!

All this winter weather has tired me out , so  i am sleeping in  ahem ... resting  today .

Today is   Friday so that means  last day to make that 40%  cutoff  .   Or get grinded out ....

I know we have an injured team member .   So we wish her well on her recovery.

Everyone is doing great and hopefully aiming to hit 60% soon .   We are at that stage of the month

and probably you  have busy days in the upcoming  week where it will be hard  to squeeze in a workout .

Look past the visiting and travelling over the next 10 days : Would it not be great to start the New Year

with your december running goals on track  . Your fellow Blitzen basking in the glory of triumphing the December Challenge and you setting a new PR at that upcoming spring race and maybe even possibly  climbing the podium at that race to pick up that coveted  age group award .

On Blitzen   dash away dash away Now!

Hey Peeps...overall I'm just shy of 40 miles...so just over 15 to do. With Christmas this week, will likely go running on a day that I'd normally bike so unless we get smacked with a few blizzards, I should reach the goal! YAY! We had snow yesterday, more tonight into tomorrow... YakTrax rock! And I would swear that running in snow is similar to running in sand... tired quads, and calves -- need lots of stretching!

Nice work team! You guys RAWK!

So How are we looking training wise , Are we going to make a move UP the rankings this week ?

Its the 10th so we should aim be around the 33% mark for the month .

Good Morning Everyone, I just past 50% of my goal for the month!!! I guess I under estimated the miles. I thought the holidays were going to "force" me to slow down some

Well  We love a success story .   I see you are up to 99%
Congrats on being in sight of the finish line !    Redding will be a blast .

I have of running left to do .

How was your weekend ?

I worked yesterday , ran long this morning with my fun running club, ie, after the run we  gather at starbucks for socializing , today in festive spirit  whiskey was being added to our morning Starbucks . Which made the drink quite a bit better.

Shopped til I dropped this afternoon and evening . Still have a few things to get but there is still time , right ?

Traning Plan is 2 short runs and a swim before Christmas with a longer run late this week.

Hey kids, it's time for another exciting installment in the Reindeer Run-Swim-Bike-FoodLog-StrengthTrain-OtherLimiter-off! When we checked last week, we had a close race, but there were some reindeer holding their teams back. NO MORE! Those reindeer are grounded, and now their teams can fly to fullest potential! They'll soar! They'll leap! They'll kick those limiters in the rear!

I know you are all excited, so let's find out how our teams are doing with 61% of the month gone. It's a close one! Are you ready? Get out your secret decoder rings, and turn them to V-C-B-D. Ready?

1st: Vixens at 66.78%
2nd: Comets at 58.88%*
3rd: Blitzens at 58.13%
4th: Dancers at 56.94%

How exciting! The Vixens hold their lead! The Comets and Blitzens are a hair's breadth apart! Who would have guessed? There were some close calls, a few people squeaking in right at 40%! Fantastic job pulling through for your team to fly on toward the finish. With the teams fielding their strongest members, what will change for next week? We've got the holidays, surely the Vixens can't keep their remarkable streak going? Who will overtake them? Will YOU face your Limiter this week? Tune in next week to find out the results of the last full week of the challenge!

*Comets have one member very close to 40% - his total isn't included in this percentage, but I left him on the spreadsheet in case he simply hadn't updated his logs and I sent a PM.

Hey team.

I found an online island.... Yesterday was my first day of running. I am still battling this cold, but it good a lot better, so I started out with an easy run. Today, I will do the same thing are maybe a little longer run, depends on how I feel once I am on the road...

Great job on the 40% milestone.... We didn't loose anyone!!! YEAH!!!

I think we lost amyro1234; she's been grounded for weeks with a foot injury anyway.

I'm feeling a bit better today: congestion is minimal and my breathing is much better. Still, my head is a bit foggy. I'm back at work but not quite ready to restart working out. I hope to be back at it this week!

Discussing the value of intervals with a fellow runner sunday .

And i have read this also a few places and its on my training schedule

and so I  will try it this week .

window.google_render_ad

During your marathon training you build up your 800 metre-repeats every week (from about four to ten).
Your goal is to run these 800 metre-repeats at a constant pace.

The time you spend running these 800 metres in minutes, is a prediction of how fast you can run your marathon in hours.

So, say you do your Yasso 800s at 3:30 min / 800 metres.
In between you recovery jog for the same amount of time (so 3:30 min).
Then your predicted marathon time is 3:30 hours.

Hey Team! Almost there! We're rockin'! I ran just over 4 today in snow and we're due 4-8 tonight (inches) so probably won't run outside tomorrow. Xmas is a planned run day but not sure how that will unfold with family/obligations. (HA...you KNOW you are a training animal when you fret about trying to get training in with the holidays Wasn't long ago when I slept, partied, and ate my way thru the holidays...never moving a muscle unless I went downhill skiing).

With some days off work , You would  think there would be more free time to get in training . ESPECIALLY important to burn off all that good food that's on offer.  I am hoping to get some time

with my bike as i will be able to ride outdoor during the daylight hours.   Another must is JAn 1st

8am for the Hangover Run , a  trail run in the windswept picturesque high desert .
