I got the same e-mail. Cut and paste into Google translator. It is great for these types of e-mails. I also got an e-mail today saying that IM Cozumel has sold out.

Gotta keep training

Actually they said they've got spots available, but today's the last day to sign up.

Hi guys!

Just a quick question. Have any of you tried to buy the VIP tickets for any family going? I tried and it took me to a site that never specified that it was for the VIP tickets plus it asked me to pay in pesos (which is fine) but when I converted pesos to dollars it actually came out to 100 more than the actuall cost in dollars is, does this make sense?

I really want to buy 3 tickets for my husband, mom and sis who are my fan club! ;-)

I just bought VIP tickets.
Base don what I saw, it looks like the values are off by a few dollars due to the exchange rates.
I saw maybe 15 dollar difference for 3 adults.

That was my longest swim in the pool. I get so bored. Has anybody seen the outside AC. I lost 6 flipping lbs today. In a 2 hr bike ride and a 50 min run. I drank just shy of a gallon of water while exercising. This heat has got to go away and drag the humidity with it. Keep on training.

Haha! I sweat a ton, indoor or out.
I probably lost 5 lbs using the spin bike for an hour today.

A couple of weeks ago, some friends and I did a HIM for training. I estimated that I drank over 13 lbs of water. it was HOT!!!

We finally booked the trip. We're staying at the Iberostar. It's not the closest hotel, but seemed like a good value with great reviews. We're there for 8 days! It's going to be a good trip.

Anyone else staying there?

That's where we're staying. There's six in our group and three of us are doing the race. I'm REALLY looking forward to the margarita's AFTER the race!

Does anyone know if the number listed on the Competitor List at the IronmanCozumel.com site is our race numebr?  I just noticed they now have an entry in the "Número de Competidor" field.

Last year our BIB # was the number that was assigned when we registered.  So most likely that is your BIB # if they haven't changed it for this year.

Also, instead of putting your age on your calf they put a letter instead.  Each AG is assinged a letter.  Mine was "Q".  But it's really weird not knowing the age of people you see- all you know if is they are in your AG or not.  Funny how there are some slight differences....

Yes, that will be your race number ;-)

Is there anyone out there tired or is it just me?

Just got back from volunteering and watching some friends finish IM Louisville. It really motivated me to train harder for Cozumel. Man, this IM thing is difficult!

Alright,

I'm in! Registered, plane tickets, hotels, all that stuff done. Now I need to stick to the program!

Couldn't decide between beach or town, so we're doing both and staying at the El Cantil condominiums. Looks convenient enough.

If anyone was wondering, it's not really a good idea to fly from Memphis to Chicago, to SFO, then Hong Kong all in one 36-hour stretch, land at dawn and attempt a 100-mile ride in the summer HKG heat. (made it 55 miles before I hit the wall, but ughhh...that one hurt!)

This will be my first IM. Did three 70.3's in the past year, so I'm thinking it's time to progress to the next level. I'm guessing I'll be re-evaluting my decision-making process somewhere around the second lap of the run!

Really looking forward to this event...

Good luck with the training everyone

All of this chatter about the heat causing issues at IM Louisville makes me appreciate training in the heat and humidity here in Augusta.  I've been running in the later afternoon and the heat slows me down but hopefully that will make me a little more prepared come Nuvember.  Train smart and I'm super excited about November.

For any of you that may have booked a flight via Mexicana Airlines, they just filed for bankruptcy & canceled all their flights so you're going to need to re-book.

Is anyone in the San Antonio area training for this race? Maybe we can get some group rides or runs... training alone is getting a little boring!

No I live in Dallas, but I think I will be in SA the weekend of Oct 22-24.  Which I will be doing a century ride for sure. If I am down there I'll send you a pm to see where there is a good place to ride.

Does anyone have recommendations for a bike case?  I don't know if I should rent/buy and if I should get soft/hard?
