Thanks Nate.  I just wanted to post here to see if others have this issue.  I'll email support later after I fool around with the magnet.

Wahoo!  Increased 20 min FTP test from 263 on Oct 16th to 280 today using TrainerRoad.  It really works. Have been mostly doing Sweet Spot and VO2 Max workouts (3x a week).  Curious how much higher I can increase it by spring.

Tried this out.  Nice program with a pretty well designed layout.  Looked around to try and generate my own workouts, but no such luck.   Oh, well.  Picked a ~40 minute workout from the premade list - the first interval was 4 minutes at 125% of FTP.  And then it went up from there.

Click.  This program is obviously aimed at someone well beyond my abilities.

It all depends on what you're doing.

If you're a beginner I suggest working your way through the base program.

We haven't announced this yet...but Jorge just gave us a NEW 6 week program on Friday. We're working on getting the workouts in and on the website. Should be out sometime between Christmas and new years.

That would be another nice option.

Is there any way to import the plans from the website into the dashboard? I am currently doing the early base plan but every time i go to do a workout I have to go to the website then find the workout Im supposed to do next. I was going to make a suggestion to add this function but I wanted to make sure I wasn't just missing something. Keep up the good work guys still loving it!

Not yet, but we're going to do some sorta of schedule stuff in the future.

By dashboard do you mean our career page or is that something in BT?

OK, I signed up becuase, as I previously stated, TR makes me want to come down to the man cave and ride the trainer.  The GUI really helps me, a bike novice, in hitting the proper level of power and time.  However, I am having terrible "power" issues.

I purposely did "Hitchcock" yesterday since it had long stretches where you need ot hold the power consistently.  I hope my screen shot come through below, but it is terrible.  The power jumps around and in the end, I do not even come close to the average target.  The funny thing is that my RPE, cadence and HR seem to correlate perfectly.  I cannot believe my stroke is this choppy, so I need some advice.

KK road machine trainer, Garmin GSC10, no powertap to compare.

1.  I just cannot get the speed sensor to be steady.  Tried moving the unit and magnet but no dice.

2.  Cadence is rock steady so at least that component is working.

3.  Tire inflated and tension adjusted for each ride.

4.  The power drops "consistently", meaning if my target is 100, the drop is always 35-37,  target160 is 57-62, etc.

Any advice is appreciated.  I won't be offended if you tell me I s##k and need to bike more. If the screen shot cannot be seen, go to the TR site and look for user cartman1966.

Yah, that's no good! We've had a few other people with problems like that and we've fixed them. Some times it's sensor problems sometimes it's our fault *gasp*.

Send me an e-mail at [email protected] and we'll continue on there so we don't fill up this forum.

But...Just for other people's knowledge I just looked at your ride file and it looks like the speed is getting cut in half once in a while. That's why you're getting the low VirtualPower numbers.

This is probably due to the magnet not triggering each revolution. So when it does every other revolution you get half the speed.

Try re-positioning the magnet so its a little bit closer. CAUTION: You can get TOO close...when you do that you get spikes the other way .

Anyways, try that out and let me know what happens.

You might also consider checking the battery on your speed/cadence sensor....

Checked the battery and it was still good.  Was fooling with the sensor arm and noticed the magent itself was right on the edge of the alignment line.  DOH!  It would pick up the speed but once I started going faster, there was probably some sort of deflection that caused it to miss the sensor.  I moved the magnet a bit and now it works great.  Did the 22 minute Tikaboo workout just to test and I now hold a steady power (well, not that steady, but at least true).

Going to do a few more rides to get used to the software and then start a 6 week prgram on 1/3 with a new FTP test.  My first was bad due to the speed drop out.  Thanks everyone.

Yeah I was talking about the trainerroad program itself i just wasn't sure what else to call it. While I am asking for things what would it take to link the workouts with BT's training log?

I was talking to Nate yesterday about putting this into Excel and he graciously allowed me to use the TR images and links. Originally I did this so I can start putting together a training schedule for myself, but it might be of use to others. I'll be completing this workbook with all the plans over the next week as time permits. Right now it only has the Early Base plan. If anyone has suggestions for making this more useful, please let me know.

The file is too large to post here, so I made it available on Google Docs through the link below. You will need to download the original to view the images and make changes.

Got everything up and working yesterday.  Loved it.  I did the Sufferfest mode with The Very Dark Place download.   I have debated buying a Computrainer and glad I held out.  When I was done, my legs felt like I had been on a hard group ride.

This solves the biggest training obstacle I had.  With three young children (who still take naps), it was hard to find time to get out of the house to ride and stick to my training plan.   So, I would go mindlessly ride the trainer or skip the workout altogther.  No more!!

Kudos for a great resource and great customer service.

Yes! This product is EXACTLY for you. That's who I had in mind when I built it. Can I quote you on our website?

This is good to know. What sorta of stuff were you looking for? I've been thinking of making a "BootCamp" area that would give you the education you needed to really use TrainerRoad to it's full potential.

Here's a little about some of the acronyms:

BT would either need an API our we would and BT would have to call it.

I talked to someone on the BT staff and they said they might develop one. That is still a ways out I think.

I think we could import the TCX files you guys are working on exporting to BT.

So we can do a manual link once you get that done.

Been using TrainerRoad for almost 2 months now, mostly just picking a random 1 hour workout and hammering. Last night I finally did the 20 minute test, holy crap that was hard. I have never sweat that much in my life, I laughed out loud when the instructions for the workout asked "Did you bring a bucket?", so true.

After the test TrainerRoad suggested a FTP of 259, and a LTHR or 134. Is it normal to have such a low LTHR on the bike? Even during the last 5-7 minutes of the 20 minute interval my heart rate barely got over 150. My running heart rates seem much higher, on my last timed mile it got to 184. Does this imply that I could have worked harder, because my inability to gracefully walk up the stairs makes me think that's not the case.

TrainerRoad is by far the best money I have spent on the sport. I used to struggle to stay on the trainer for 30 minutes before getting bored and quitting. Now a 60 minute workout is over before I know it.
