Good morning, Dee. Did you do anything good yesterday?

Just basically took the day off and had an unstructured day.  Those are rare!

Slept in, played on computer, read, went to acupuncture appointment (that means a nap!), played with dogs in the park, went out for Mexican food, watched a little TV and talked to my sister on phone.  Nice laid back day.

That sounds like a great day!

Morning Ann - need to get those workouts posted so that Ghoulies WIN the October challenge. 

I know. I've been slacking at the posting lately.

As long as you are getting in the workouts and get them posted before the month is out, all will be good.  But without the postings we don't know if we need to really harass you, which you know we will do, or not. 

I was a little late getting started because of my back, but I'm confident I will reach my goal. Last night was the first night I've taken off in a week. As far as the harassing... I'm always game.

Yesterday afternoon, around 2:50, when my kiddos were on the bus ride home from school I got a call from Keri's gym teacher. They are playing field hockey in class, it is her last class of the day, with only a few seconds left in class Keri took a field hockey stick in the mouth. Since they were going right to the buses the gym teacher didn't send her to the nurse. I wish she would have, I'd have gone and picked her up. Her lip was swollen, the bleeding was stopped by the time she got home, and one of the brackets for her braces was broken off. Poor kiddo. I knew she was hurting because she wasn't her normal bubbly talkative self all evening.

Both kiddos are playing in a soccer tournament this weekend. I'm glad it is only a 15-20 minute drive because we have to be there before 7 on Saturday morning. Keri plays at 8, 11, and 3. Not sure what time Caleb's games are yet. It is going to be a LOOOOOOONG day.

I have both soccer schedules now...

Caleb plays at 8, 10, 12

Keri plays at 8, 11, 3

Caleb will definitely play 2 games on Sunday

Keri's team is currently 5-0 and playing well, I would expect them to play on Sunday, too.

I do not see a nap in my weekend forecast.

I am still down. Ann reminded me that that is NOT allowed. I went to the doctor today to get a new round of meds. I fully intend to be better ASAP.

Ann, don't worry, I have taken enough naps for all of the Ghoulies this week. I'll take an extra one for you.

Robin - sorry to hear that you are still not well.  That is not good.  Sending healing JuJu.

Ann - it sure does sound like you are going to have a very busy weekend.  Wow, three games each on Saturday, and Caleb's team will get no rest between the games. 

My upcoming weekend includes going to a baseball tournament to see my friends son play. They live in Charlotte, NC, but come to a tourney here in Cobb County every fall.  BUT the weather says that it will rain all day on Saturday.  I'm spoiled and don't want to sit in the rain.  Do baseball games still play in the rain?  I would not think that would be a good thing and cause lots of bats to get thrown with each swing. 

Then Sat night my son and his girl are cooking dinner for us.  Woot!

Tonight is bookclub and I am only halfway through the book.  One Thousand White Women.  I'm listening to it and it is interesting.  I usually don't like listening to books, but we were not able to get a copy to read as they were all checked out so listening it is. 

Sunday I am then scheduled to work 6 hours for a bicycle ride.  Frank was supposed to do 62 miles, but he is having hip issues and might not be riding at all.  I had signed up to keep busy while he was riding, now it looks like it just might be me.  And the ride takes place over and hour from here.  LOL.  If he does not ride, I'm going to make him come and volunteer with me. 

Then my tennis team will be playing it's last match of the season. I'm hoping that I will get back in time to see some of the matches.  We are having a team party on Monday evening.

It is my day off, but I am going to try to work a bit anyway. I am SOOOOOO far behind!

Kendra: Sounds like you have a filled weekend. Tournaments usually play in the rain, just not storms. It is worse for the spectators!  The bike ride will welcome another volunteer. Frank should go since he is the reason you are going at all.

Hope everyone has had a good weekend!  I went to a costume bunco party last night that was fun.   Today I had a nice run with Hanna.  Our weather has been wonderful ... cool crisp dry fall days!

Kendra, how was the bike race?  Did hubby volunteer too? 

Ann, did they win their ball games?

Robin,  hope you got enough work done to take off some of the pressure, but not so much that it took over your weekend!!!

What a busy past 3 days.

Friday, worked 6 hours from home. Quick shower, then off to get groceries. Got home from grocery shopping, put the cold items away, then went and picked the kiddos up from school. Caleb and I had eye appointments, Keri rode along with us. Fed the kiddos on the way home. Got home and finished putting the groceries away. Then packed up the truck and made sure the kiddos had their uniforms ready for Saturday. I packed tons of snacks since we'd be there so long. I also had an extra pair of shin guards and socks for each kid.

Saturday up at 5:40. Showered, dressed, ate. Keri was up before 6, Caleb around 6. It was 39 degrees out. Spent 9.5 hours at the soccer fields on Saturday and 6.5 on Sunday. The kids teams didn't play their best games, both of them ended up coming in 4th. They played hard. There was some frustration. There are some new bumps and bruises. It will all pass.

When we got home Saturday evening I made dinner while Caleb showered. After dinner Keri took a bath in my tub, she was in there almost an hour swimming laps. About 20 minutes after she got out of the tub she was falling asleep at the foot of my bed so I shuffled her off to her own bed around 8:30.

When we got home last night everyone was tired but we decided to carve pumpkins. If we didn't do it last night I don't know when we would have done it. After that showers and dinner. Everyone crashed early again.

No naps this weekend.

There will be one this afternoon!

I slept for both of us and then some this weekend, Ann. I like to nap, but this has gotten out of hand. This infection is just exhausting me. The dam  meds better kick in today. PERIOD.

We had a bunch of folks over on Friday night for dinner. I slept most of Saturday, except for cleaning dishes and laundry from the night before. Sunday, we climbed the stairs at Chimney Rock... then I napped. I did have a massage in the morning. Out with the Bad, I say.

I have a little work this morning, then I am off to Asheville to get my glasses. I hope they work this time.

Tonight is Dock night, though it will be in the back yard by the fire pit since it is getting dark and cold. YUCK. I miss my evening daylight already.

I don't like it being dark out at 7pm either. November is just around the corner, when did that happen?

i try my best not to whine about things like weather and cold but the dark... I am a total whiner. and I HATE when they steal the extra hour of evening daylight from us, too.
