Wind will flip sometime in April. Sad but true. |

Hoping that we have the same on race day, too! |

Member 560 Utah | Subject: RE: Ironman Texas 2015 Looks like it has officially been changed to a rolling start, according to the Athlete Guide updated today. I have to say I am disappointed! As much as I have enjoyed the rolling starts at the 70.3s I have done, I was really looking forward to the mass start of 2700 people going at once to the sound of a cannon! I wanted to experience it just once!! Oh well, I am a strong swimmer (the only one of the three I am good at) and I am too damn excited to let a minor change affect me too much. 59 days people! I am getting so stoked!! Training is going good lately and I am feeling good even though the volume is leaving me tired and hungry all the time |

Master 2468 Muskego, Wisconsin | Subject: RE: Ironman Texas 2015 If it is like the "rolling" start from last year you are allowed to be in the water so you don't necessarily have to roll into it, you can get in and tread water until the cannon and enjoy the mass start feeling. Or you can roll into it at your leisure. Really the best of both worlds. |

This will be the first time it's a rolling start. You will self seed yourself by swim time behind a volunteer holding a pace sign. |

I did the race in 2013 and for some reason I recall the walk into the water being full of boulders, rocks, etc where one had to be cautious getting in the water. Maybe I'm mistaken?? If this is so, it would disrupt the flow of entry into the water. Anyway, I like a rolling start as I did the same in CDA last year. In 13 at TX it was a rugby match out to the first turn buoy. Thanks, Tom |

Thanks, Tom No boulders of rough surfaces......just concrete. Don't worry about this start change.....it'll work out just fine and should make the swim safer and more comfortable for almost everyone. |

New user 175 Houston, Texas | Subject: RE: Ironman Texas 2015 100 on the course yesterday. For me it was great to get out of the city and ride without red lights every mile!! Conditions were great with nice tailwind for the way back. It was my first time on the majority of the course and it is a really nice ride. Good roads for 85% of it, and the other 15% aren't too bad either, just a little bumpy. |

What did you get for total elevation for the ride? I see so many different numbers posted. |

Elite 5316 Alturas, California | Subject: RE: Ironman Texas 2015 Kinda dragging here. I'm up to about 23-24 hours a week at this point and just flat. I still have 10ish pounds to lose, but meh 5 would be fine. I have a few of those nagging muscles that I have to keep an eye on, but only 3 more hard weeks ( one rest week) before taper. It isn't quite warm for the bike rides yet. We had snow last week, er this week too. The hard thing about outdoors biking is the darnd wind. 4100 yard swim tonight, tired. Hang in there guys one more month to taper time. Stay healthy, this is the dangerous month for injury. When in doubt back off and take a recovery day. |

Master 2468 Muskego, Wisconsin | Subject: RE: Ironman Texas 2015 I'm in a bit of a funk. I was really hoping to pick up a legacy spot this year, but I did not. I was looking forward to taking a year off from the fulls and have some fun trying to be fast again. When I didn't get the slot I started thinking about another full year of these long bikes and runs....not exciting when you look at it from that standpoint. However, I'll be in Italy so I've got a whole new list of IMs to choose from, thinking about Frankfurt then spending a couple of weeks cruising Germany.....when you look at it like that it's really not that bad. My wife is still on it though, training hard for this one, her first, even with all the travel she's had to do. She's keeping me motivated enough to get all my big workouts in and not blow up like a big tick. Have a great training weekend. |

Extreme Veteran 492 Austin, TX | Subject: RE: Ironman Texas 2015 This is the time in training you will start to feel fatigued. 23 hours for me this week and fatigue is very noticable. I back off next week and then 4 big weeks before 2 week taper. I just hope it gets HOT for the last 4 week build. |

I've taken my training down some this week, really not intentionally, but between some weather problems, work, etc. it forced me back. Not complaining. Some big weeks ahead for sure. Also, is everyone aware the Athlete Guide is out online now . Tom |

Elite 5316 Alturas, California | Subject: RE: Ironman Texas 2015 Hrm top of the right knee pain on the bike. Not good timing on that to develop, sigh. I usually don't read the athlete guide until taper madness 8). Probably the most important thing is that you have to pick up your packet on Thursday instead of Friday right? |

Extreme Veteran 660 Texas | Subject: RE: Ironman Texas 2015 I've noticed a few nagging pains lately in my right leg. Going in for a massage tomorrow, so I hope that helps! Last week was my recovery week, so I skipped my run and bike on Wed/Thurs and only swam. Trying to give the leg some rest...I think it helped, because I survived the weekend's workouts with minimal discomfort. For some reason, Saturday's shorter (recovery) bike ride was tough mentally and my pace sucked. I was just not feeling it. But it's done and I am ready for the week ahead! It's going to be a tough few weeks, but then it's taper time!!! |

Member 560 Utah | Subject: RE: Ironman Texas 2015 I have started referring to April as Hell Month. The training will be brutal. If I can survive April, it will then be taper time then the race. The race will be cake compared to the next 4 weeks of training! Stay healthy folks, only 45 days to go! |
