Hey Something that I noticed is in the inbox on all my PM that I sent there is a question mark with blue circle around it on the envelop section. I have emailed them to see what that means because then the fuelbelt that I PM on first, was not received by the person. Therefore I sent them an email this morning to see if they got the PM. Will keep you up to date on the answer.

I think this thread is an AWESOME idea, AND I happen to have something to share. I have a Garmin Forerunner 201 (I recently upgraded to the 301). I do not have the original manual, but I do have the pdf file that Garmin provided.

I have the unit, charger/download mount, computer cable (not USB) and charger. It does not have a heart rate monitor, but it is a GPS, and that alone makes it usable. I always found the virtual training partner kept me motivated too.

Make me an offer, unless you are a poor struggling college student than an essay on why you need it will suffice (just kidding)

I saw the post for the Garmin last night.  That is pretty nice to give away!

Just wanted to reiterate how in awe I am of this thread.  Everyone who has given something away- you are truely exceptional!  It's great to see good and friendly people still exist!

I sent a PM.  Thanks for the offer!  I've been struggling with attaching my sensor to my non-Nike+ shoes.

Ok...here we go.

I've got a HR-2000 bike computer.  It's several yrs old, but I haven't used it in a long time.  Just uncovered it cleaning out one of my random Tri Drawers.  It's wireless and has spd/dist/time/avg spd/max spd/clock/odometer

It also has HR capability.  Now I lost the strap a while ago, but I got a signal with my Polar strap.  I'm sure any non-coded strap will give it a signal.  No guarantee's though!

Its also got a bike handlebar attachment and the sensor.  Plus I have a random magnet (from my Polar S625X) that I will throw in.

Please, if you have a bike computer, wait to ask for it.  If you are starting out and need one then PM me.

I hope it helps Douglass achieve his awesome goals!

I have also uncovered two pouches for your shoe or a fuel belt.  These are brand new and still in the bag.  One is an actual Fuel Belt brand and the other is logo'd from one of the sponsors of a race (Penlac).  Basically, it's a pouch that you can velcro on your shoe or a fuel belt.  I looks like it was designed to put an ID or some keys.

It's called a shoe pocket: http://www.fuelbelt.com/accessories/pockets.html;jsessionid=ac112b1e1f4372872e282962480eb4f9917e518e3265.e3eTaxaQbxmTe34Pa38Ta38Rahn0

auto208562,

I am sad to say we think that HRM is starting to die. The numbers are no longer coming in clearly (just parts of them, even with new batteries). But the great news is my friend using the HRM has lost 40pounds this year! Here is a picture of him doing his first Half Marathon.

Subject: RE: Pay it forward

I love this thread (and Dave for starting it, and Chris for giving Dave that first HRM) and can't resist participating. It would be great if someone really needs these things.

I bought my first road bike in Aug. 2005; it came with Shimano A520 "road touring" pedals, which after some 2000+ miles I have just replaced with pedals with a flatter wider base. Any newbies who want to try clipless pedals? They also have platform insets that clip in, which are great for when you're riding with a kids' triathlon group or on a crowded bike path with your 70-year-old parents. At least, that's what I've used them for.

I bought my first wetsuit shortly before that -- Xterra Ventilator John (sleeveless, low end), women's small. I had to cut the legs a bit shorter, but our coaches say you should always do that anyway to make transition easier. I have strong hands and put quite a few small tears in it as I pulled it up, which I hear is typical with Xterra. I patched them with wetsuit glue so they don't leak, but decided that I didn't like the way it looked (silly reason, I know, since it works just fine) and when Xterra had a half-off special I bought a different style for racing. The Ventilator has been in the closet since June 07. So, any small (100-120 lbs, under 5'2" newbie who would like it, let me know.

I have a lot of cycling jerseys, too (mostly women's M), and will take pix and post later.

SPOKEN FOR ALREADY!  MORE LATER.

Thanks...PM sent - I will make a donation to CAF. I am new to Triathlon, so I have nothing to offer on this thread. Great idea though.

Subject: Concerns about Pay it foward
I have been getting some 'negative' PMs about this thread. One concern was some people complaining that only a handful of people are getting the stuff. Another concern was some people have turned to PM hiding their identity so they can hide how much stuff they are getting.

One solution that was suggested was people that are asking for the free things should post in the thread and if they don't, the person giving the items away should post who they give it to. This will help people giving things away to make a better decision on who they give it to. I mean, the person giving the item doesn't have to give it to the person that requests it first.

I'm not sure what the solution is or even if there is a problem, but I just felt I should put it out there for people that are concerned to discuss.

This is really sad to hear.  I don't know how anyone knows who's getting all the stuff, or how much anyone is getting, and I would like to believe in the goodwill of people here to ask for what they might really need.  But it is certainly true that anyone who's posted to the thread and is getting email updates will end up with earlier notice than the "general public" who peruse the forums only occasionally.  I know I sent my stuff to another generous soul who'd given other stuff away already on this thread.  Maybe one solution to that is for more people to join the thread by offering their own things (but please, no pad-posting or generalized chatter).  That said, I am going to see if I can find some other things to give away so that this post isn't useless in this thread!

I hope the concerns are not true. I hope and assume for the most part people are being honest and really do need the stuff. But it does bring up something which possibly may be happening which I did not consider or think about until I got the PMs.
