Sure.

So.... did you need directions to get here? 'Cause I'm impatient to start swimming.

Oh, it IS going to be heated, right? 'Cause it is the end of November, and the Swim Challenge starts next month.

PS - You all are going to participate in the swimmy challenge, right? 'Cause we know how much you all loveeeeee challenges.

I love challenges, but unless I can swim in my spa it ain't happening.  In fact I changed my first Tri for next year to a Du just because I know I will not be swimming (also the water is TOO cold).

Hm, a spa. Yeah. A spa next to the pool would be really nice.

Personally, it's the running that kills me. Swimming is much easier.

Yay! Work is over for the week!

I must say that the heated spa next to the pool is WAY cool.  However,  The spa is a real Biotch to swim in...LOL.

heated spa + endless pool current generator = excellent solution to this issue!

What else can we add to the project?

How about "atmosphere"? A waterfall feature would really add a nice touch. Still need something tropical though.....

sorry to say guys but im done running, i get knee pain after a mile or so. i had this problem last year and pushed i little too much and had a limp for a few days. im really bummed cause i thought i was past this but apperantly i was wrong. my question is can i count walks towards my running goal if so great but i prolly wont make my goal, prolly wouldnt have anyway. but can i count walking. i will continue walking regardless. i have no pain when i walk, even after running with the pain, as soon as i stop running it disapears but comes right back if i start to run. really frustrating me. rob

happy turkey day all.

"Atmosphere"?  How about ambiance?  Some Queen Palms, some Ferns surrounding a hot tub.  HD radio with some string lighting.  Darn,  That reminds me that I still have a project to build the dang gazebo around the spa.  Drat,  Project 121 is in the books...LOL.

Do do you have a foam roller you can use? Or is this a different type of knee pain than ITB? My hubby has to keep up on the roller work, otherwise he gets that knee pain too.

Been sick as crap since Wednesday... Had the one 2 mile run, but even it hurt... Now sinus and throat are tore up... AND.. apparently through the course of all of the coughing and hacking I have either brusied a rib, or bruised the tissue between the ribs.. Every time I cough it feel slike someone stabbing me in my left side... I feel like I was in bed half of the time my family was here.. Man this sucks!!!

The bad news..... I am going to have no choice now but to drop out of the November challenge. I am at serious risk of not hitting my 200 miles for the year.. and the way I feel right now, even with no run I do not know if I am going to be able to run the 5k at the Thunder Road Marathon... So.. I am going to bail, lay low for a week, and hope that the rib heals up enough that I can race on December 8th...

And just when I get the friggin cadence down to hurricane wind speed... THIS SUCKS!!!!

Awwww MAN! 1for1 - that stinks. I hope you feel better.

Comet: Foam roller. About $20 at GI Joe's. You want a high density foam roller. It'll hurt like you-know-what the first few times you use it, but it stretches out the IT band and will take care of the knee pain.  The ITB link has a bunch of treatment things, but the easiest is to just roll it. Runners' IT bands get tight (and then cause knee pain) and the roller loosens it up. Works like magic for me - and was recommended by my trainer (so no hocus pocus.   )

Have a great week everyone!

OK, team - I'm going to make 100% in 3 of 4 categories... ah well.

Right now I'm at:

Swim 10/13 sessions (this will take some effort, but I think I can swim T, R, and F to finish it out)

Bike 109.75/120 miles (done tomorrow am with spin class)

Run 41.32/42 miles (whooey, I can finish this in my sleep)

Strength 5/9 sessions (NOT gonna happen...but since I'm starting up strength again in the off-season, I guess getting 5 sessions in is not so terrible)

Hope everyone has had a fantastic month and made some great progress on their goals!
