I guess it is official - just bought tickets to Florida for Florida 70.3 in May!

I got a great deal on airfare - found a $300 flight (one way) and had a $200 voucher - I will buy the return ticket once I finalize the family portion of the trip.

Adam and Bill better head for higher ground!  I hope all turns out well for that part of the world, we are just getting heavy rain and wind.

We lucked out with no real damage here. I live at the base of a mountain, so we never flood. Gravity takes care of the water for us. But we do lose power all the time. Its still pretty windy, so we may lose it yet, but have a generator that covers the essentials for us.

Adam - check in from Long Island when you get a chance. Hope all is well.

Glad to hear every thing is good with you and your family Bill!  I suspect that Adam may not have the ability to post at this point watching the news this morning.  I hope loss of internet is his only issue!

Did you know that a fun size butterfinger is 100 calories and each individual dot is 15!  Started tracking my calories again - sometimes I think ignorance is bliss! The overflowing halloween bucket is driving me crazy and it is only going to get worse when the kids bring home all my favorites tonight.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN ALL!

I haven't had to take my children out for holloween in a very long time as their mother always did that and now they are grown.  We haven't had a trick or treater stop by our place in 10 years since it is kind of rural where we are and there is a large housing development down the road that is easier.  Yet, every year we get a bag of Reece's peanut butter cups, "just in case"!

I don't want to know the calorie count, but my trainer will get some extra mileage as will my running shoes!

Happy Halloween to you too!

I made it early this afternoon.  If the swim was today, it would be tuff.  Wind is blowing pretty hard with white caps as far as I can see.  Not to worried about that because it can be completely different in the morning.  Now for a couple of days of resting and relaxing.  Going for a swim in the morning and a short bike ride after that.  Other than that, not much planned.

glad you made it there safely Wesley! I saw on FB that Kathleen is safely there as well! 2010 it was rainy and the gulf was choppy as well in the days leading up to the race, but on race day the temp dropped and the gulf was as smooth as glass! I believe Carla was there for that! Missing being there!

Hi everyone!

Just starting to catch up today. I hope everyone got through the storm OK. We lost some roof shingles but I fixed it pretty easily. Unfortunately some of my friends and family had some pretty serious damage. A few had there houses flood and some had trees fall onto there houses.

This is my first day back w/ internet (except for the phone). A lot of people are still w/o power here. Most of the schools are closed.

I have had a streak of good news lately - first we finally rented our house (they moved in yesterday) and second my husband got his promotion to GS15!  They say news comes in 3's - so hoping to hear back about our refinance soon.

On the schedule today: power weight lifting class and then spin class.

Wow I thought things were looking up now reality is setting in. Gas is in very short supply and the lines at stations that have gas are really long. I filled everything up before the storm and wife was able to fill up yesterday. The stores were pretty barren yesterday also.

On the bright side I have a good excuse to ride my bike more.Laughing
