Regular 1023 Madrid | Subject: RE: TAN #203: TANese New Year - Horsing Around I have a lot of nasty no fun allergies too this time of year. The severe congestion comes from nasal passage swelling so makes sense that advil being an antiinflammatory would offer some releief there. I use a product called Rhinocort thats in the form of an inhaler that has been a life saver for me. |

I spent the day outside. It was perfect spring day, but the pollen and tiny little petals from the oak flowers were so thick the air that you could see it like a fog in the air. I was coughing but kept at it. Last night, I paid for that foolishness. My sinuses plugged up solid and I had an aching cough and a roaring headache. I woke up at about 1 AM just miserable. About 4 AM, I took an Advil for the headache and the amazingly it helped ease the cough too. I think I got another two hours of sleep. I didn't know Advil would help a cough. Today, I shall spend indoors playing on BT and writing stuff. TW
Netti pot. It's a bit nasty pouring salt water through your head, but it washes out the irritants, which then reduces the inflammation, which then reduces mucus production. I reserve it for days which are truly terrible; sounds like you're there |

Got to muster up the strength for the ballet tonight and put on a happy face for it. I would rather drink a few cocktails and watch a good movie at home. |

Pro 5761 Bartlett, TN | Subject: RE: TAN #203: TANese New Year - Horsing Around This morning I bailed on my swim because after I was done in the weight room, I walked into the locker room and the lifeguard was bent over the sink washing out his eyes. I asked him if he was OK and he said "the chemicals in the pool are strong today". He looked at me and his eyes were very red! I stood there for a second and decided missing a swim won't kill me... |

Sensei Sin City | Subject: RE: TAN #203: TANese New Year - Horsing Around I am ready to snap. Already did somewhat. The boss calls me out in front of the other managers on Monday because he thought I didn't do what he wanted. I DID do what I thought was required but we both had different understanding of what was needed. So, instead of trying to figure out the confusion, calls me out for not doing something as if I'm a mind reader. Insult to injury? I was correct in what was needed and HE was mistaken. No apology - guess that's his prerogative as the boss. Probably a bad time to call me out unfairly when I have offers at other companies to work for them... THEN, made lunch plans with coworkers and I look up 4 min after 12 and they are gone. No work, just gone. Sure, I'm hurt and disappointed, but I'm a big boy and can handle it. Just went for a walk and had my salad. All good. Well, the first thing they did is say how long they waited for me and had to finally leave when it was 12:10. I was going to let the WHOLE thing go until they started to say they did all they could and it was my fault for being left. I said I was scrambling looking for them just minutes after 12 and they CALLED ME A LIAR!!!! Trying to be joking, but still pizzed me off. So I showed them a text they sent FROM THE RESTARANT at 12:13 and asked, if they waited until 12:10, did they REALLY walk the 3/4 mile and cross 3 busy intersections waiting for the lights in THREE MINUTES???? And I'M the lair???? Again, getting left was disappointing but I was going to just forget about it, but putting it on me and calling me a lair? I ended up yelling at them and telling them to NEVER call me a liar again - enough for the boss to run out looking scared. Told him to just forget it. I know I sound like a baby, but there gets to be a time you just need a couple hours away. I may leave for a couple mental health hours soon. I'm done and hard to fake pleasant. Definitely going to take that lunch with the other job prospect... |

Elite 5145 Cleveland | Subject: RE: TAN #203: TANese New Year - Horsing Around That's a pretty craptastic day
You're a more patient man than me, however. I would have probably gone off on my boss if I had gotten called out like that. Probably would have been a career limiting move, but I wouldn't really care.
As for the ruhtards at lunch... it sounds like you're probably better off not associating with them, anyway.
Life's been pretty good here, lately. After the drama of early last week and getting things worked out, we've been really solid and on the same page. Realizing that I just needed to put forth a little more effort and understanding made a ton of difference. We took the kids to Cedar Point this past weekend for Opening Day. We didn't get there until late evening, but we have season passes this year, so it's no biggie. It was still an awesome evening of roller coasters
Hoping to get out of the house and go see Captain America tonight, and am still just training like a fiend... less than 3 weeks until Alcatraz. W00T! |

Sensei Sin City | Subject: RE: TAN #203: TANese New Year - Horsing Around Yeah, I'm feeling stabby. Good thing I only have plastic forks in close proximity. Lots of bourbon for me tonight.
On the bright side (or maybe not????) My new-ish 305 conked out on me during a hike. I turned it off to save batteries during a rest break and it never turned back on. Just about gave up on it but after about 45 minutes of research, found an out of the way forum where SOMEONE had an actual fix. A soft reset followed immediately by a hard reset AND IT WORKS AGAIN! No need to get a new one or pay $50 for them to fix it. It DID remind me of old video game move. You know, left left right right A A B B up down and you do a cool trick. It was mode + reset for 5 seconds + power release all, press hold mode, press power release, say "yes", power down, restart.... BAM - working 305. I love problem solving/fixing. Definitely going to take that lunch with the other job prospect... Drama is never fun. I try my damnedest to stay away from it. Mine may not last long; had a great phone interview which either gets me a new job with a 40% raise or a butt-load of leverage to get what I need to succeed where I'm at. Can't lose. Otherwise, life is scratching by. Everyday, we get closer to OK. But less than a week is hardly a yardstick to lifelong success. Edited by pitt83 2014-05-13 6:45 PM |

Alpharetta, Georgia | Subject: RE: TAN #203: TANese New Year - Horsing Around Hiya! Miss you guys! New job is stupid busy. I had EIGHT meetings today (which only left me 30 minutes free the entire day, oy! I guess that's my bathroom break?), all online/phone calls.. my head and ear hurts from wearing my wireless headset. I feel like I have a big sign on my forehead that says "I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I'M DOING" hahaha... learning so much. Trying to balance being the new girl and making friends - while avoiding drama. Two of the ladies I work closely with are powerhouse gossipers and socializers. To the point where I have to excuse myself almost every time I run into them because they just.keep.talking. Nice ladies though, they've been showing me all of the little stuff. Like where the good coffee is |

My roommate's 310 has been screwy on pace. According to his watch, we ran 10 miles in 43 minutes, instead of 5. But it wasn't a steady 2:1 mileage ratio throughout the run. Super weird. Also, he's an electrical/software engineer, so he's been trying to problem solve it on his own. Did it sound like your 305 is likely to have that problem again? |

My data wasn't wrong, it just didn't turn on or even have the "battery charging in process" when on the charger. I would try the soft reset (mode+reset for 5 seconds then power on). If that doesn't work, then hard reset which is mode+power for 5 seconds and it will ask if you want to delete all data. Starting from fresh could help. |

I'm sure his half marathon this weekend will record itself as a huge full marathon PR for him Now that I think of it. I can contribute ONE explanation. The same hike that my Garmin conked out, I was hiking through a canyon. I lost satellite reception and when I reviewed the track, it was bouncing all over the place. It added 25% more to my total distance. The track had my on top of mountains and several steps later, in a valley, then back on top of the mountain. Was his run on a course he always does? Or was it new and in a "urban" canyon (between lots of buildings). Window treatments that reflect microwaves can mess up the signal the GPS gets... |
