Amazing! I love them. (And the shoes have a large bunion window. I am noticing that more often now.) I hope you had a fantastic birthday. Bunion window, now that's a new one! Those shoes are the NB WR00 Minimus Road, in case you were wondering. |

I love the color of the running shoes. I did some online shoes shopping last night. My bunions are quickly becoming a limiter for me. I am going to try to stretch the shoes I have now while I look for something better. I am also thinking of cutting out a space for my bunions. Yes. They are that bad. They are genetic. My dad had them, and my two youngest have them, too.I ran on the dirt roads yesterday which were a little muddy in spots, so there was a bit of slipping and sliding. At one point I just took off my shoes and ran in my socks for about half a mile. My bunions felt so much better, but they are still a little achey this morning. /rant about disformed feet I'm a big fan of colorful shoes. :D Did I say that? I really love my neon yellow Kinvaras. I like to go out of my way to compliment people wearing colorful shoes in everyday life. As for the ladies... I'll find and marry one someday, but I don't 'follow a nice pair of shorts' during races, as it were. That's not the way I do things. Actually..."Shazam! I love brightly colored shoes" is what you said. (yes, I looked it up cuz it was totally bugging me). Sooo Yay for my brightly colored trail shoes!!!! |

But just stick to your plan, stay within yourself and have a blast. Are there pace groups running in it? |

Extreme Veteran 536 | Subject: RE: Mental Manatee Mentors Part 3--CLOSED Asalzwed - 2013-04-01 12:38 PM ArielLIlB - 2013-04-01 8:49 AM Hi everybody! I've missed you all. Been MIA with work kicking my azz non-stop, weekend commitments, ugh. I owe a race report from Saturday but the short version is that it was a great race and I'm really really pleased with the way I ran. I did a 6 mile run before the 4 mile race because I have a HM next weekend and needed to get a long run in, so I was not racing on fresh legs. We did the 6 miles in 1 hour flat (I am a machine when it comes to logging steady 10-minute-miles). Then, my friend and I ran serious negative splits in the race: Mile 1 - 9:41, Mile 2 - 9:31, Mile 3 - 9:14, Mile 4 - 9:01. I can't believe I had the last mile in me, and then we sprinted for the finish with about 200m to go. So, although I haven't had great steady training for the half, I'm optimistic after this weekend. I'll now start working my way through all of the fun stuff I've missed over the past 2 weeks! This could take a while... Hey there! NICE JOB! That is fantastic. It's amazing, I believe everyone is a lot tougher, stronger and faster than they think they are.
Hey, I'll see you in a few weeks, eh?? Yes!!! |

Master 3870 | Subject: RE: Mental Manatee Mentors Part 3--CLOSED Asalzwed - 2013-04-01 10:13 AM If I of the typically dull shoes can do it, you of the neons certainly will be extraordinary. That being said, I was petrified before RnR Phoenix (my first) last year. But nerves leave quickly, and then it's just time to enjoy the " ride" because you've done all you can to be ready. ponderingfox - 2013-04-01 12:10 PM cdban66 - 2013-04-01 7:46 AM Yeah, I know it will be ok during the race. Totally understand the emotional finish. I think after all the training, it's impossible not to get emotional when you cross the line. Thanks for the update on the tracker, going to be using this for my next race. Jo - Congrats on overcoming the fear...you will soon be a cycling beast! Salty - Happy Belated - hope you had a great B-day. Those are wicked awesome (that's better than just awesome) shoes! Stacy - For me, the best plan was run, run and run some more. I did not follow a specific plan, I just followed the adage, "run often, mostly easy, sometimes hard." It really worked for me. I ran 5-6 days per week and stuck to the 10% rule for adding mileage each week. Erin - love the pic of your Husband and Daughter reading the magazine. How is the clip in, clip out going..? Jonathon TX - please tell me your cold went away. Ariel - Awesome job...very impressive to negative split those 4 miles after a 6 mile "warm up" And with that - I think I'm caught up.... P.S. What the hell is YMMV? I haven't been able to figure that one out. |
