Champion 23360 Taser-World | Subject: RE: Show us your Ghoulies - Halloween Run Challenge SURPRISE!It's a SURPRISE CHALLENGE UPDATE!Yeah. Kind of like those Pop Quizzes that you hated while you were in school. Why? Because I enjoy The CURRENT CHALLENGE STANDINGS are: 1st place - Show Us Your Ghoulies - 17.9% 2nd place - E.V.I.L. Running Reapers - 17.5% 3rd place - Crypt Keepers - 16.6% 4th place - Running Pumpkins - 12.6% And in the SECONDARY (POST PADDING) CHALLENGE: (Because you KNOW there's always a secondary challenge!) Well, what can I say? It's Show us your Ghoulies by a landslide. BUT it's only October 6th, so RUN RUN RUN (or I'll taser you). From Challenge Central, this has been your Week 1 update. - Dee |

Master 1734 On a lake in the Adirondacks in NY | Subject: RE: Show us your Ghoulies - Halloween Run Challenge Evening teammates! Just a quick drive-by, 'cause I'm exhausted and need to go to sleep. Got the house cleaned, the laundry done, and my run accomplished! 3 miles, outside, in the SUNSHINE! (Did I mention it wasn't raining?) The doctor said my daughter doesn't have an ear infection, but has inflamed lymph nodes, possibly due to a wisdom tooth. I think I would have been happier with an ear infection. Need to find a dentist now. Has an antibiotic in the meantime to help. I'm hoping her mood today was due to pain and not just crappy teenage attitude. My youngest continued his quest to make the first grade teacher as crazy as his kindergarten teacher was by helping himself to her scissors and cutting holes in his pants and shirt. I am planning to go to the gym tomorrow so I can work off some frustration. Oh, and the chickpea curry was just okay. Don't think I would make it again. Good-night! Great job with the runs! We are off to a good start. |

And those jets to massage the sore muscles afterwords. So only 30 miles completed so far here. Thank you for the encouragement, I will try to do better this weekend. 8). |

Just thought it was high time I pop in and say hi to my teammates. I did pop in last night, but didn't have time to catch up, and well, I thought I'd post today... um, 20 pages later. What a talkative group! My goal for this month will be tiny--focusing on consistency more than mileage, so just a mere 20 miles for the month. Should be a little hard to reach since I have done NOTHING for a few weeks while my son was out of school and sick, but should be totally reachable, too. So, hi! Hi, you have to read fast to stay caught up with these posts. Glad that training is back in the schedule. It is tough when kids are sick, etc. |

Hey Amy....we have been on a challenge team before I think!? anyways...welcome! wow hope your son is all better now! two weeks is a long time to be sick! if you want a run down on all the past pages, I think we can all help you get caught up so you dont have to spend your time trying to get caught up. im a team player, ya know! Yes, we were, I think it was sometime last winter. I kinda took a hiatus from challenges for the summer, but I'm back and needing prodding motivation encouragement to keep going for the winter. If you'd like to catch me up/do intros, I would love that! I don't see me getting the running done AND catching up on the first 80 or so pages...but I'll try! |

And good luck getting back into the workout routine! Thanks for the welcome! getting back into a routine shouldn't be too hard. My son's sickness was an asthma flare that lasted for over two weeks! We're still doing breathing treatments 3 times a day, plus his inhaler at school before recess, but at least he wasn't hospitalized, and he's back in school. Life is what happens when you're busy making other plans, right? |

In fact the parking they had all the athletes/runners park in for the hm was up a set of 20 or more stairs....if you did not walk up them..you had to go around a block to this ramp....there were only a few brave runners who climbed the stairs..most walked the block (and I did too!) no stairs for me! and now the question of the day!?? how many stairs? and how long did it take you? oh and were you going up...or down those stairs? 3 flights of stairs and I had to go up and down them at least 10 times today. Down was far worse than up. I'm shuddering still thinking about it Darn our split level facility! YeeOuch!! |

We are off to a good start. Your kids sound just like mine. My daughter is 13. My son is 7. Second grade, and when we went to the school fun run/fundraiser at the local track a few weeks ago, the principle knows him by name, and his kindergarten teacher asked if he's pulled any more stunts on his second grade teacher like he had on his first grade teacher. And yes, she knew the details. *eek*. |
