There is no such thing as an evening or nighttime workout for me... no way, nada, no how.  I was blessed with being a morning person (much to the chagrin of my wife).  I'm up at 5:30am, get in a 45 min to 1 hr workout, then smash together two trashcan lids to wake up my wife and 3 daughters for school.  If I workout in the evening, I find I can't get to sleep.

Got to the Y at lunch for a 1 mi. continuous swim.  It was a struggle, but I made it.  It looked like the lifeguard was ready to dive in to save me at any moment!  Maybe I shouldn't scream HELP after every lap! Wink

Swim stroke needs work, but at least it's 1800 yards closer to whooping some TWISTER @$$!!!

bEASTies,  I am waaaaay behind in reading posts, so I have no idea what's going on with the rest of you.  I did an AM swim and I'm planning a PM bike ride.  At some point, I am simply going to have to force myself to put on my darn running shoes.  I'll catch up on post reading later when I log in my bike ride.  jackie

Jackie,

You guys conceded to us TWISTERs so you don't need to log any more workouts.  Other than that there was just a lot of rejoicing that the torture was over, you could relax knowing that the TWISTER's rule, and you were just going to drink the rest of the month.

It was kind of sad to be honest with you - I was hoping for a good fight through 3/31 but it was not in the cards.

See you next month.

Jackie,
Please ignore Bill's comments... he's a former dorkface and recovering muck raker.  Just look at the first 3 words of the last line of his signature line... "MY TEAM LOST"!!!

Yes, I believe he did and MY team beat his...so time to RAMP IT UP bEASTies....one more week!  I feel a poem coming on...ahem...

We are the bEASTies from the east y'all
Comin' to kick sum butt y'all
Wearin' bicycle cleats, we will defeat
Those other guys from the West y'all

The TWISTERS blow a lotta hot air
Back home in the EAST where the weather's fair
There ain't no such thing as a losing streak
So swimmin', we're winnin', we're the team to beat

Running in the East, dripping blood, sweat and tears
The bEASTies are on fire; we know what the Twisters fear
Running, swimming, biking bEASTs from East
Go home and cry yourself to sleep, no shame in the least

UGH!  Today has turned into an unplanned rest day.  The school nurse called just as I was getting ready to ride and run.  Cole is sick again.  Stomach virus.  Again.  Really???  So, he is home, all showered and watching a movie.  I guess I could ride the trainer but my motivation left when the phone call came.

I am so jealous of those of you who can work out in the morning.   If I can manage to get my body out of bed and to the pool, I can usually get a good swim workout in.  And I feel good the rest of the day too.  And I get to smell like chlorine...  love it!  But my body just doesn't agree with biking and especially running until I've been awake for at least an hour.  I'm miserable doing it and I'm miserable later because I got less sleep and wasted time on a crappy workout.

I've toyed with the idea of weaning myself off the coffee in the morning.  Maybe if my body doesn't depend on it to wake up, I could wake up easier in the morning and actually get some workouts in?  I don't know if I am that brave though.  I really like my coffee.Wink

wgraves7582 - 2010-03-24 1:16 PM Great replies guys - I hope it fires you up.

Remember the movie - King Arthur (or the most recent one) when King Arthur meets the head scot and he says mark his face because on the field it will be the last thing he sees alive and the scot says he finally met a man worth killing.

Well that is how I feel now (not that I want to bring harm to you ) but it will be an honor to say we beat you guys this month - LOL

I hope this post makes some sense to anyone

Well guys... the good news is that Bill's obviously hitting the bottle, rather than hitting the gym!!!! Smile

The wicked-evil TWISTERS are doing some numbers-crunching over on their twisted side of the world.  And they're also doind a lot of working out...

_____bEASTies - TWISTERS
Goal 1 - 66.4% - 64.7%
Goal 2 - 59.9% - 66.8%
Goal 3 - 52.0% - 63.7%
Goal 4 - 57.9% - 70.8%
Overall-60.4% - 63.9%

P
osts  - 1800 - 1883
Pages - 90 - 95

I'm not at all concerned about the individual goals, but the OVERALL is cause for concern...We're down by 3.4%!  Let's get those workouts in bEASTies!  No fading down the stretch.  Doesn't matter where you are vs. goal or what's happened so far this month.  Just get those workouts in any way you can...  And as many as you can.  I doubled up today and I'm planning on doubling up again tomorrow and Friday.

Here we go bEASTies, here we go!
Here we go bEASTies, here we go!

This is true for me too. . . Whenever I DO get up in time to work out in the morning, I'm really energized for the rest of the day.  My problem is rolling out of bed!

I can only run in the morning on the weekends.  But only because I get up at my usual time on the weekends (between 6-7).  If I wanted to run weekday mornings, I'd have to probably get up at 5 - blech!

I tried weaning myself off coffee before. . . I was fairly successful, but then got back in the habit.  But I'm a lot better now!  I usually only have about a cup and a half a day.  Down from 4-5 cups!  So I guess that's progress?
