I really hate when I can't "race." My knee was just too swollen for the ROM I need. That being said, it was really as good as it could be. A GREAT course, fun crowd, well organized etc. I even had time to pee beforehand. I ended up 12th female and 3rd AG but it was far off from a PR. It's really too bad I wasn't able to dig deeper but I just couldn't. I guess I'm being hard on myself but adjusting goals like that is tough. I do have to say, I'm proud of myself for getting out there because I was really tempted to skip it and sleep in. But then I realized that there are going to be plenty of days that I will have to just get out there and give it my best. I'd only do one or two races a year if I waited for everything to be perfect Marathon training officially starts tomorrow! 18 weeks to Boston!Asalzwed - 2012-12-09 2:34 PM Burnt? Sunstroke? Hard to imagine!!!!! It's brrrrrr here How did your race go?I'm sorry that your knee is continuing to bother you. I hope that it's improving. Marathon training, Salty style! |

Thank you everyone for posting this weekend, it was awesome to be able to follow what was going on with Yanti. And Yanti, you are one awesome lady. I can't wait to read your story from the race. I hope that you are resting and healing up over the next few days. OK, so yesterday I got my Jogo challenge time in while walking to and from the stadium to watch the Bucs game. I am asking the Jogo judges if I can do nothing today and double up tomorrow? How about it, is that OK? I have nothing on the calendar for today, but I do have a group ride scheduled for tomorrow morning. And I hope to see the pool on Wednesday, so that will be the first bike and pool time in a month. Enjoy your week everyone. Yanti, you are a rock star!!! I dunno. Can't you borrow someone's dog to walk for 30 minutes? I'll leave the final decision to JoGo herself. Is the challenge 31 exercise sessions during the month or at least 30 minutes of activity each day? |

Now, if you blow off tomorrow and don't double up, I think you will have to face some manatee wrath!! Oh! Manatee WRATH! Sounds scary! |

Do take good care of the knee ... a little caution now better than regret later. I spent yesterday eating flies, and today wiping infected slime and picking neck crust out of my hair. Attached is a photo of the NOT BAD chafe (chafe upon chafe, actually) on my left jawline. The massage therapist said I should get the one on the BACK of my neck looked at because it's a lot worse and has a large hard lump that is spewing crap. Tempted to shave the bottom half of my hair and keep the top long (but tied up for now), skater-chick style. If it's not any better tomorrow I'll see some kind of medical person. The chemist gave me some wash and creams for it which have been quite nice. (036.CapChafe (Small).jpg) Attachments ---------------- 036.CapChafe (Small).jpg (39KB - 1 downloads) |

I even had a, ermmm, "post race treat" lined up. However, the recovery is so good I absolutely don't want to muck it up. Also, very little sleep for two nights sandwiching an IM effort.
