everlong - 2013-02-09 5:15 PM We ended up with about 16. It took me about 90 minutes to shovel out however a guy with a front end loader saw me and took out the head of the driveway which saved me a 12X20 patch and probably another 90 minutes as that would have been the heaviest and hardest part. Turns out there's a tree down at the head of our street that took down wires and is blocking the road completely on 25 feet from our house so snowy we couldn't even see it from the upstairs. Going the other direction with 75 feet of the house power lines down in 4 spots and 7 trees down with 4 different roads completly blocked. Yet we still have power. [/QUOTE

35"here, no place to put it now.

uhcoog - 2013-02-09 2:25 PM Got a nice 3 hour ride in today.  Fun times.  Saw a guy in a pickup "walking" his horse by driving on the shoulder and holding the reins out of the drivers side window.  Only in Texas type stuff.

OK, why? Because he couldn't actually walk, or ride the horse?

No idea.  The guy had a trailer.  Weird S___t.

No new puppy for me :-(

Logan found a different forever home.  Happy he has a home but sad its not with me.  I think Shaun and I are in the market for a rescue (although all of our other animals found us so I think we need to wait for the next one to find us too).

ccmpsyd - 2013-02-09 5:24 PM Scott, I see no pumpkian but the rev3 instead? Too bad we won't connect and too bad I will be out of town when you are in oob.

I did Pumpkinman last year so it was a tough call but with my oldest soccer shedule August was easier and one of my friends wanted to do OOB. You'll love Pumpkinman.

luv2bhealthy - 2013-02-08 8:11 PM In Dallas for the Hot Chocolate 15k in the morning.

How fun! What's the weather like? That race was here a couple weeks ago (I didn't do it, but had friends that did) and it was super warm & humid. They still had hot chocolate and the fondue at the end.

Have a great race.

Oh and the sweatshirts are pretty nice.

Oh, what fun! Second year to do this. Well, it was cold 47, but the problem was the 11 - 13 mph winds. Once you started running it was great. I love this race.

Haha! We've done this when our horses or donkeys got out and ram off. Sometimes you can't get them in a trailer so you walk them back once you catch them.

oOK that makes sense then. We had steer growing up, and they were always getting out. Everyone knew it was "those Wilson steer" if they saw them out. I think we just herded them back to their pasture. We didn't have sidewalks in the country.

There's a 3 page article on IMMT in Lava magazine.  Some cool photos too.  It looks like a beautiful venue!  I have concerns about the bike course considering the lack of hills in here in west Cleveland.  I'm not quite sure how to train for that.  I may have to make some trips to the east side to do some rides once it gets nice out.  The lake is pristine.  After swimming in Lake Erie so many times, I'm pretty excited to race in clear, clean water.

2:15 on the trainer this morning. After all the heavy shoveling I was wondering how bad of shape I was going to be in this morning but actually I went pretty hard. All the core work the last 6 months really paying off.

No.  Their dad trains them.  He's certifiable.  You will routinely see him chasing them during races, yelling at them to run faster, all while they're crying.  The girls are very sweet and very talented, but the father is pretty much despised in the tri and running communities here.

That is so sad. They didn't paint a very bad picture of him. If he keeps it up, they will grow up to hate him and the sport. I knew from the video he coached them, but thought maybe he'd seek some professional coaching. Sad, sad!

there's something off with the dad. The girls responses, about him not pushing them too hard, seem almost rehearsed. They are way too young IMO to be competing at those distances.

Too young to be competing on back to back days at the very least.  I have a friend who runs a local tri shop and was going to sponsor them until he sat down with the family to talk about it.  He QUICKLY backed away from the offer.

You are not old! Geez! Tell me about foam rolling. I've seen it and read about it, but it works? In what ways?

1:15 on the trainer and 5 miles on the treadmill. We can still only get out using the truck in 4-wheel drive because of all the downed trees and wires. The town is still 70% without power down from 97% at the worst. We've still never been out for more than 2 seconds at a time but literally that's been 40 times. Still I'll take it.

Swim speed session and upper body strength at gym today.  The pool was freezing!!!!  Recovery run later this afternoon.  We're having unseasonably warm weather (upper 30s - low 40s), so I'm about to take the younger boys out for a walk.  It's so good for them to get the activity.  It's snowed here almost all winter (a foot of snow is considered a dusting in Cleveland), and we've been stuck inside.  I need the fresh air, too.

Busy weekend for me including this morning but not for training. I got a call Friday that the guy building my custom shower pan could only come on Monday. I had to get the plumbing completed in the bathroom in the basement before he came this morning. I have spent all weekend finishing piping and last wall that had to be built along with the cement board for the shower. Glad I don't do plumbing for a living...Training took a back seat. I should be back on schedule. Hopefully I will get in the tabata's this evening.

Good to see everyone is ok up North. My sister just missed being in the tornado down in MS. She left work 30 mins before it came through were she worked.
