Originally posted by ironannekidd I may take a look at a Honda CR-V, too.

I'm loving my CR-V.

My list included:

Heated Seats

Connector for the music (most have a USB connector now)

Decent gas mileage

Sun roof

Cup holder

Like Robin, we went online and virtually built the car and got price quotes.  Then the dealer basically met the quote.  Not a lot of dickering going on.

No word yet.  Not holding my breath for today, but it sure would be nice.  My boss will be in a meeting all day tomorrow, so it would make it hard to turn in notice if I did not drop it off first thing in the morning.  Don't really want to do it by email.

Good morning Ghoulies!

So... I bought a car last night. I got a 2013 Ford Escape. Has a grand total of 38 miles on it. It has all the features I wanted, plus some I didn't even know existed. Donnie was a little surprised when I got home, but he said he knew it was going to happen sooner or later. I could have driven it home last night, but since I was at the dealer by myself I could only get 1 vehicle home. I'll pick it up tomorrow when I get home from work, the salesman is off today. I'M SO EXCITED!

Kendra, I have the music connection, too. Me and the kiddos are big music listeners. I got 6 months of Sirius radio, too. I will probably end up keeping that. My phone is already synced to it, so I can do hands free calling. Caleb is excited about the voice controlled DJing. It has a built in GPS, which is cool because my old one died back at Easter.

I did pay extra to have some sealant sprayed on the inside and outside, so I'm covered for life against any kind of damage to the paint, and the interior.

If any of you are free tomorrow afternoon I need a ride to the car dealership. I don't want to have to wait until 5:00 when Donnie gets home. The salesman said he could come pick me up. Hopefully I can get a ride down so I don't have to take him up on that.

Yeee Haaa!!! I would jump in the car now to give you a lift, but I wouldn't be able to get there before about 5 myself.

The hands free stuff is great. I have lots of fun making my car call people. I let the Sirius radio go on mine. I listen to a local public radio station, and then my own music. The GPS is good to have, but my old Tom Tom was way better. Around here, maps are still more reliable anyway

It has roof rails, so I'm already looking at kayak racks. It also has a tow hitch so I want to check out the bike racks that connect to them. We found a nice family bike trail about 40 minutes from here we want to take the kids on this fall.

I just got a trailer hitch bike rack. Not the most expensive one, but a pretty good one. I LOVE it already. It is nice to be able to put the bikes on without having to lift them onto the roof. I never used an actual rack for my kayaks. Just the roof rails and good tie downs. I could get more boats on that way than if I had a kayak rack.

So... the important question... what color is it?

I think th official color is charcoal black. I should have taken pictures last night, but it was getting dark by the time I got out of there. I honestly only went to take a test drive and to see what I thought. I liked it. I bought it. Of course the man at home was all - how much did you talk them down? and you should have walked away and had them come down more. I thought I did pretty good considering it was the first time I ever bought a vehicle all by myself.

Ooohhh it is pretty! My favorite car color is silver or metallic grey. It hides dirt well and looks sleek. It will look good on you.

Hey, if you are happy with it fine. The bartering part is way too stressful for me. It pisses me off the games you have to play. Just ride your car and have fun.

Of course, now you have to name it. (My Subaru is named Rocket, my new Prius is named Astro).

Good Morning Ghoulies!  A little rain here today, but it is not cold.  It is supposed to be nice again for the weekend.  It is a light work day today and DH has requested chef salad for dinner, so that is not much work either.

Not too sure how I will spend my time.
