I asked the (dumb) two-piece swimsuit questions.

Anyone have experience with more of a tri bra top?

I am not a huge fan of traditional trip tops and I think I may melt in one in WI summer. In Seattle I just had tri shorts and a sports bra under the wetsuit then threw on a regular tank top after the swim. I wasn't concerned with transition time but it was notably difficult to get on while I was wet.

I guess I could skip a "tri-bra" altogether and just do a regular sports bra ... I'm thinking "aloud" chime in if you have advice.

No reason that you can't do the tri-bra thing.

I have a singlet that is kind of like a tank top that would work if you wanted to go that route.  I'll tell you right now that while I love the cut, I don't love the fabric as much. I use it a lot for indoor bricks in the winter (can shove my nano in the pocket).

http://www.sierratradingpost.com/orca-race-tri-singlet-for-women~p~5911k/?filterString=s~ocra%2F&colorFamily=03

Ohh, so ... is it more made to get wet then? Like tri top material?

Is a tri-bra gonna cause cleavage-drag vs a zipped up tri top? Does it matter? Cleavage-drag, that IS a serious question even.

I've had some horrible bra cleavage drag. Best to try it out first.

Never mind a zip-up tri top. Get a tight shortie like all the fast girls wear:

That looks like the perfect equation for muffin top to me ...

You don't have muffin top, you silly wench.

Even I don't have muffin top and I'm pretty muffiny.

Honestly, I'm pretty sure with one of the new SOAS or De Soto tri tops in W singlet, they have a longer cut if you REALLY BELIEVE THAT YOU HAVE INVISIBLE MUFFIN TOP, you wouldn't need to wear a sports bra with them.

Purdy close, but mine is a little more red. Leave it to Nike to have such variations.

BTW, you look great!

Schpanks!

I've been going over every type of classified, notice, etc. in Jakarta to try and find a 2nd caretaker/househelp for my mom ... saw this one about a dog and could not stop laughing.

"Beautiful black puppy/small dog up for adoption/foster. Great with kids, not good with rabbits.  Healthy and happy! Please sms 087886642946 if interested"

Well, apparently, that's how you DO do it. Just one day at a time. Just this moment. When I do such things--this is rare, admittedly--I prefer to think of it as WITH something rather than without. I am enjoying THIS moment with a peaceful stomach and soon(ish)-to-be-slim body. I am enjoying this lovely strawberry/mango/papaya/etc.

I really, really like this Yanti.  Good advice!!

Okay. I'm in for the 30 min/day Jogo Challenge.

I feel so out of touch lately, but final grades are in, my assessment reports are finished (for now -- more to do on Thursday when I get information from others). Today is the little boys' last day of school (out at 11:30 a.m.). Number One son gets back from his Oregon/Washington visit tomorrow at 11 a.m. And Dairy Land is open!!! Summer is officially beginning in my house this week.

So there's this 10k trail run that I have wanted to do for years. They run a 28 mile bike ride at the same time, and I usually do that, but this year, I'm thinking of taking my bike up with me, running the 10k, and then biking for a couple hours on some hills. Please tell me to DOOO  EEET (or however you spell it.)

Here's the description:

“The course includes roadways, rolling native grassland, cowboys, the famed Suicide Hill, and start/finish on Main Street. This course is as beautiful as it is demanding and it brings out the best in runners each year.”

DOOOOOOO EEEEETTTTT!!!  Although 'Suicide Hill' doesn't add to the appeal; whatever exactly 'Suicide Hill' is cannot be good.

My dog ran away last winter (found him 3 days later). While on his walk-a-bout, he ate 3 rabbits out of a pin in a guys back yard. Unfortunately, I would have to disclose such info if I were to get rid of my dog as well. SMH.

On a Pop Tart note...I can't find the new PB ones in any stores around here.

EEEEKS, oops!!!

Ok, this is only semi-relevant but pretty funny.

When J was 5 or so she brought her turtle out in the yard to play (I mean, lets start here, WTF?) but anyway the turtle somehow ran away (again, how in the...?) They looked everywhere and couldn't find it.

10 years later, I kid you not, 10 years! Her dad found him when he was mowing the lawn. They just dug out the old tank (or whatever you call a turtle home) and put him back in and he lived like 5 more years or something.

*The turtle did not kill any rabbits

Great story and the last line is hysterical!!  Although in his 10 year hiatus from 'civilization', how can J and family be sure no rabbits were killed by the turtle?

I just know, what with the bunny farm next to Funny farm, this is going to be one of our Easters.

She even looks like Lisa Labradog.

Also, I expect more ooooh squeee over my cute cat picture, now that the cat is almost recognizably a cat and not some weird over-eared alien.

Anyone else have this kind of issue with a race company? Only being my 3rd tri, is this a more common issue than I would think?
Yes, actually. At my very first tri, where I know I killed the transitions, I got nothing. Just my overall time. I was so disappointed. It never occurred to me to ask them to look into it. Several people only got their overall times reported. I chalked it up to faulty chips, but still....

The race organization that Jen and I avoid is famous for being late with results and having mess ups.  At the race we did in February the half marathon course was poorly laid out--marked even worse and there were no show volunteers due to craptastic weather.  Several lead runners wound up cutting the course short so she never figured out who actually won the race.

Yep, this is a seasoned RD.....we hate doing her events.  ALWAYS bugged up.

Kind of thought of you and Jen when I asked the question. Wondered if it was part of your aversion to a certain race company.

We've got a couple of race series here that are suuuuper slow to post and really relaxed about course cutters etc. The thing is, they cost like $10 so I'm willing to deal with it.

So I just got off the phone with my mom. She's being released from Stanford today.

She collapsed/fainted on Saturday. EMTs came and had to use defib on her as they got out to the ambulance. After some tests at the local hospital, they found that she had blood clots in her lungs. The docs consulted with Stanford, and around 9pm they flew her up to undergo a procedure that night. I was able to talk to her on Monday...she was a little loopy from morphine. And today she's back to her chatty self.

It's been a pretty emotional few days, especially after my grandma last month, but she's going to be okay

Hmmmm, so my thoughts are that you would have to put a lot of honey in there in order for it to taste "sweet"

Really? I like honey in my coffee--doesn't seem to take too much, not any more than sugar, which I very rarely have with coffee anymore, unless it's right before a long session.

I've never felt honey disburses well and gives an over all sweeter taste to things the way sugar does.

But I can do without. I like the cinnamon! Especially if you put it with your ground beans in the French press. Mmmm!

I think I'm turning into Mutti--my short term memory is shot. Apparently that's pretty common in stressful times. Brain's too busy buzzing.

That's just to say I was served a delicious frothy coffee the other day sprinkled with cinnamon--even without any sweetening, udderly delicious. I just can't for the life of me remember where, when, nor whom I was with, if anyone.

Wacha stressin' bout?

Vitamin B-12 is the bomb.    Shots are the way to go.    B-12 equals no more chemo fogged brain.

Just sayin'.     I would happily give you your shots, if needed.    No charge.... Cool

Our overall times are in, but there are mistakes (like one guy ran the "5k" in 6:45) which throw everything off.  Lots of people only have their bike time. Frustrating when you spend $100+.

$10???? Nice! I think the "cheapest" I've done is $20 and that was barely a step above a time yourself kind of race. Undecided

Wow Erin. I'll be keeping you and yours in my prayers.

In other news, I have been cleared by the PT to begin running again.

Without the use of a tent, I am now a happy camper.
