Jen, you have worked really hard for this. I truly believe you are going to do wonderful. Remember this is a journey - try to enjoy it,even the hard parts. We are all behind you!

Thanks, Michele. I appreciate the support. I think I'm just totally fried right now. My body's saying no more. It doesn't help that the kids' 2 busiest weeks of the summer happened to fall on my overload training weeks. All of my muscles are sore, and the soreness isn't going away. I just keep telling myself to get through the next 3 days and then it will be better.

I am physically and emotionally a hot mess right now. LOL

My mom is taking the younger 3 kids to her house for a few days, so it will just be Conrad and me. I'm going to get a nice, long massage on Tuesday morning. I'm hoping that will help me refocus and refresh.

I think it is totally normal that everything is sore ... taper will allow all that to fade away. Keep at it ... you are almost there.

Suggestions for long sleeved running shirts? Think thin, breathable layer. I think we may be looking at temps in the 60s for IMMT. If there's rain, that's too cool for me.

Run test today. 3 x 20 minutes. Rainy and hills here in Simpsonville, and it effected my times a bit

Back from the islands and ready to get at it. I got in a couple of bike rides and runs this past week, but mostly took it easy. Rode for four hours this afternoon including some wicked hills on a part of the SCT I'd never done before. It's probably indicative of my lax week, but I felt a lot stronger toward the end of my ride today than after my last long ride. 90 minute run in the morning then finally back to the pool this week.

Good luck to our IM'ers tomorrow!!! Do we have #'s to track them?

I did a 4:15 ride yesterday and concentrated on keeping my HR in the "proper" zones. Meaning, I took it easy and did not push it until the end. Prior to that I did a mile OWS. Today I have a 145 hour run and 1 intervals on the bike. My legs are pooped and I really am not looking forward to the run. I feel kind of burnt out.

Deb finished the swim in 129 (I believe) and is on the bike.

I do not know Todd's bib number/last name to see how he is doing.

Am excited for them.

62 mile hilly course on the bike yesterday, and I'm sore.  That's not a good sign with two events coming up in September.  Must have more consistency!

Got in a century ride & short run this morning. Overload weeks are done. My volume for the month is insane! I know some of you are used to this bc you have trained for IM before, but this is a first for me. Glad to have the really hard stuff behind me. I'm so tired.

Thanks everyone for the kind words, I'll write more when I don't hurt so much. It rained for the first 12 miles of the bike so to put it very lightly, when your children cry from diaper rash, my heart goes out to the 150%. Never mind the effect a shower has on it. Made for a painful run.

A few quick points:
1). the 4,000 volunteers are amazing and you really should try to look as many as you can, in the eye and thank them.
2) the same applies yo the tens of thousands of cheering spectators, having you name on you race bib, they call you name and say something motivating - priceless when you're ready to walk.
3). the course is just as beautiful as it is hard - you have to experience to truly get the sense.
4). there are so many fast people out there, I was "checked" by many regular AG women who kick ass, and I'm proud to have been fortunate to race the same course as them.
5). The pros are superhuman or aliens.

Thanks again...
