Honestly, I hate internet debate because it's so frickin easy to dismiss other people's opinions with straw man arguments, logical fallacies, ad hominem attacks, and the good old personal anecdote (which I just did, actually, HA!)

So often when it comes to this sort of thing, it really just depends on the info that doesn't make it into the papers.

I'm nervous.  The workplace is at a cross roads right now.  Work is taking a LONG time to get done and the boss is starting to get PISSED.  As of now, it looks like I'm on the good side of that.  rRegardless of my copious time on BT, it seems like I get enough done to look like I'm working.  So it's me and the boss "against" the rest and we need to lay down the law.  (however, as much as I screw off, there is a LOT more going on outside my office).

So, I stay in good graces with the boss (he asked if I knew any good engineers 'like me' we could hire), but may lose some "trust" among the staff because I (and the boss) have to take a stand about the unproductivity.

I feel a little guilty because I do spend a lot of time in TAN and could be more productive myself.

I suggested a "sit-down" with the entire staff to talk about this so it looks like we are not singling anyone out.  We may even have to cut back internet since I see lots of people watching TV on it (yes, at work)

I'm very uneasy right now and a little anxious.

I get to spend next week in Bend, OR and Newport Beach, CA. Might even attempt my first ows in the grand old Pacific.

Just thought I would talk about nothing

are you meeting me for dinner in Portland???

Just be sure to NOT swim during the times of the day that sharks typically feed.

That is my one concern to be honest with you.  But hey I would make the news at BT if it happened right?

Some white skinned guy from Buffalo was eaten by a shark.  All that was heard was to tell them on BT that it really happened!  Fortunately a tri athlete was around and knew what he was talking about.

Man from Buffalo eaten by a shark in Portland, OR...

... ie, that is.

There was a place in Chinatown call the Chinese Ice Cream Factory (go figure).  Sold all kinds of interesting flavors (pandan, chocolate pandan, lychee, lychee sorbet, almond cookie).

Also had some Cantonese noodles that came directly from the heavens from "Big Wongs" on Mott st.  So good.

Unbelievably good.
