hey everyone. i looked at your blog julie, and i think you look awesome!! i left a comment on there.
susie-WTG on the will power last night, WOAH! that's just freaking awesome! the no soda (i commend you, there's no way i'd give up my diet coke-EVER) and the no popcorn! you rock.
dan--wanna see wanna see the bike wanna see!!! i looked at a bianchi at the bike shop the other day. LOL it was all tricked out- and up on a platform thing, mostly for show i think. anyway, i told dh i wanted it for my birthday LOL he said sure yeah, no problem. (it was around $6500) then i told the guy to wrap it up for me, and he just laughed. LOL ok, whatever.
i'm heading out for a run here pretty soon, it WAS raining, but it stopped, waaahh. it's a new month, a new day, i just looked at the course for the marathon (i meant to link it here for you julee, and i spaced it out--i'll find it again) so hopefully that'll be enough to get my butt out there.

here's a link to my little blog--it's not much, but i do write on there sometimes. http://alley-gator.blogspot.com/

julee, here's the link to the rnr seattle marathon http://www.rnrseattle.com/

have a good day everyone.

aww thank you for the comment, plus I added your blog to my blog list (which I just now figured out how to do ) ! lol   Really enjoy your writing, so entertaining ! Love the pic of your little guy (was it Henry?)........all scared because Pie Pie scared him ! lol

MDHillSlug - 2009-03-01 11:09 AM It looks like we are about to get hit by the worst storm of this winter with possible snow accumulations of up to 9 inches. I figure I had better not plan on running tomorrow and probably not on Tuesday either. I've got to refigure my training plans for this week so that I can stay on track for the March challenge.

Stay warm and CAREFUL ok ? !!!!

I created a chart and have it up on my page but I've been having a terrible time with the BT html editor today; it keeps inserting extraneous font designators and other things. I need to work on cleaning it up before I can hand over the code.

Good morning everyone.   I spent about 2 and a half hours in the bike shop today getting my new Bianchi sorted out (fit, etc.).   By the time I got home and had a late lunch, it was 3:30.   I just had to go out for a short ride.   I ended up riding a little over an hour.  I did my best to keep the speed slow.   The wind was pretty strong and I did not want to end up crashing on my first ride.    Note that I currently have rat traps on the pedals.   I need to wait about a week for new shoes with the Look type cleat.   My old clipless were SPD type.

What can I say?  Fantastic!!!  It is so much smoother than my old ride.   I can't wait for nice weather and calmer winds.    Unfortunately, the weather forecast is ugly - they are showing snow two days later this week.

Have a great Sunday everyone!!

woo hoo! congrats Dan! that is soooooooooooo exciting! I cant wait to see pictures of you on it! also look forward to seeing what you think of the new pedals. Im a spuds gal too and would like to see if you see the other pedals advantageous.

Hope the forecaster is wrong...Do I need to send him the memo...SPRING IS SPRUNG?!!

I will talk my wife into taking a shot or two.   I have to wait until next Sunday for the new shoes.   Right now I've got rat traps on - actually the bike shop owner said it is probably better while I'm getting used to the feel of the bike and I'm inclined to agree.

Will let you know about the Look type pedals.  Someone else may be able to offer an opinion about SPD versus LOOK.

I've never used anything other than SPD mtb pedals. I like the fact that the pedals are double sided and I like that mtb shoes allow you to be able to walk without walking on the cleats. It does mean that I can't use triathlon-specific shoes but that's ok because I don't really want to bike or run without socks.

We did get snow but I don't know if it's what they predicted. At 6am there was probably only an inch in the backyard, but at 7:30 there were a few more inches. It's supposed to be stopping any time now. I'll be working from home today.

If the weather clears, the roads get cleaned, and the meeting is on, then I'll be attending my first tri group meeting tonight. I had to skip last month's to go to my son's last HS hockey game. I've really been looking forward to tonight's meeting.

MDHillSlug - 2009-02-28 4:07 PM I've got a birthday coming up and Michele has been on my case because I have nothing on my wish list; there's just really nothing I want or need right now. So, we've worked out that she's paying for me to participate in a swim clinic through my tri club. It includes videotape analysis, including above and below water views. I wish I didn't have to wait til March 29 for this. I hope they don't tell me that my stroke is a mess, but I hope there is something that can use adjustment. Goodness knows my stroke count is way high.
hey, my bday is in March, too! But I'm using my bday present to type this! Partner talked about possibly going to NYC for a weekend, but $ is a little bit tight right now for him, so I'm hoping to talk him into waiting until it's a little warmer. Plus then maybe my calves will be healed more and we can walk, walk, walk. My mom asked what I wanted, but I told her what I wanted couldn't be bought: A dinner with my immediately family all together, not fighting. My brother responded to that that he would be out of town. Oh, well. I tried.

what is the date of your bd? and good for you for trying....does your bro realize that grudges get you nowhere fast!? and it is easier to ignore the problem then to face it and go forward!? hope you can work thru this...I know how important family is and how it can hurt when someone is not being so nice! hang in there girl!!

I'm not telling when my bday is ... it's a super secret because I'm turning 30.

I'm north of you, and it looks like it is coming from the south. This is a WEIRD snow. It is like little tiny pellets. They were blowing around on the road and actually looked like water. I hope we don't get the 6-10 inches they were predicting. PLUS, I'm on call this week, so now I might have to miss my swim lesson tonight with my training partner!

I rocked my nutrition all weekend, although I didn't realize I ate too little yesterday because I didn't add up my calories until today (wrote it down and then entered on BT later).

I'd better get my 5-lb Weight Watchers star this week!!

In my own weight-loss spreadsheet, I lost 9.4 pounds in February, and I'm now at the lowest weight I've been this year. Whoopee! AND, back at my pre-injury weight from October.

Also woke up today without any pain in my feet or Achilles-es. Thought my Achilles didn't like walking up the steep hill this morning to my winter parking spot.

Also, I gotta check out that HIM race report later - I am so in awe!

Hey everybody!  I hope you are all having a non-snowy day.  My dh got stuck in Atlanta yesterday because it was snowing -- SNOW IN ATLANTA???  But he made it home this morning.

I'm hobbling around a little bit today.  I didn't run this morning, but do plan to swim this afternoon.  But in general I don't feel too bad, so maybe I didn't push hard enough yesterday?  That's what Torture Dan says, and he also told me, "

I would have thought the first 6 miles would be much slower than the last 6 miles

because of the wind. That last kick tells me you had plenty left. (I am so going to make you hurt this Spring on the track.)"

Uh oh, I am so in trouble...

Girl Passing on Left - 2009-03-02 12:16 AM

I use Look because I read once they are better for people with plantar fasciitis/ankle stability/issues ... but it can be rather inconvenient not being able to walk in the shoes.
