Happy Birthday Roni!!! That bday challenge sounds really awesome.  I wish I had known about it in my 20's or even 30's for that matter, I'm afraid I didn't know how to swim back then   45 is my next birthday and that sounds pretty impossible (to swim 4000 yds, let alone 4 miles!!!)

Holly, I was thinking about you when I read that report in the newspaper this morning!  Yikes, you are one tough triathlete!

Rob, way to go sub 25 for team Tri!!!  I plan to do my swim tomorrow morning   Keep your fingers crossed!

Good luck to everyone racing this weekend.  I have a long run Sat and a long long long bike planned for sunday.

So i think I missed something today....Holly and the swim. There was something in the news about where she swam. I'm so out of touch up here in the land of cold water.

So Suzy have a running question for you.

After Mooseman next week I was going to just make up my tri-workouts for the rest of the year since my end of season race is going to be a marathon.

Swimming will be from swimplan.com
Biking will be group rides, TT races and Intervals on the Computrainer
Running will be ???

Should I just train to 10k distance or use a plan designed for 1/2 mary or longer.  Need something to get me to my marathon training.  My wife and I were talking about this.  She thought 10k to make sure my legs aren't burnt out when I start the marathon training but ever since I did the 1/2 marathon plan earlier the 10k runs for my olympic plan never seemed long enough.

Any thoughts?

Belated happy birthday Roni!

I feel like a slug here in Germany. I have not had a single work out. I hope to run tonight after work. Yesterday was my first time on the autobahn. My boss drove FAST!!! We went to Regensburg, which is an hour and a half north of Munich. I have been working a lot and sleeping the rest of the time. At least I am not longer sore from the stupid run.

I had hoped that next week would be an easy week, what with my first tri on saturday, but I want to redo my swim on saturday and get one more try at the bike before June 1. I'll just do easy runs the rest of the week.

It has been fun keeping up with evereyone's progress. You are all going great guns. I wish I was instead of regressing. Maybe its all just mental on my part.

I miss my routine.

Good luck to anyone racing this weekend. This will probably be my last day with Internet access until I return as I have to be at the airport early Friday, which should be before any of wake up.

Doug

Looks okay I think Tony. I will put my ride in this weekend as part of my tri. And the run, if i get better than 28 minutes, but thats a pipe dream i think!
As a aside, I agree with Tony....All 4 teams have some really good times. I am amazed at how fast some of you guys/girls can run 5k. 19-20 minute 5kms.. golly that is fast!! And under 6 minutes for the swim....We have some blazers here for sure. One day next year, when we do this again, I'm going to at those numbers!

We may finish ahead of team #2 by default anyhow.....I'm heard that one their members  only have a 16" batmobile bike to ride to do his 12 miles!

Actually, last night Jack, the 3.5 year old who owns the bike, told me I'm not allowed to borrow it until I demonstrate better bike handling skills.

If it has those solid plastic tires and the parental push bar on the back, you'll be okay. Maybe ask him if its okay if "Mommy pushed Daddy on his big kid bike." Its only 12 miles.

I have the total times to date as:

Team 2: 1:06:49
Team 1: 1:07:13
Team 3: 1:12:44
Team 4: 1:13:35

I hope to do another swim and bike before the first.

Damn some of you are FAST swimmers! Sub 6 minutes would be a miracle for me. I don't think I ever swam a sub 1:30 for 100 yds. I guess if we're being chased by sharks I'm the one they eat while you all get away.

Doug,  I did average all the times that were posted at the time I looked (I think there have been some times posted since).  This could be a fun weekend with some stellar times still coming in!
My hats off to the person who came up with this virtual race.  Fun stuff!
Whatever the outcome, we should do it again at the end of the season to see how those results compare.

Oh, and by the way go team DEUCE!  It's going to "stink" finishing behind team #2!

As a proud member of team 4, all I can say is we are better looking!

Did my first double brick of the season and it was fun.  Off to meet my tri coach Steve for the first time today.  We're starting in the pool which should provide some good humor.

Enjoy the day. I'm off to primp.

My goal in the swim at IMFL is to swim "middle of the pack".  My theory is the shark may get the swimmers in the lead or the swimmers bringing up the end, but they probably would have a tough time picking one out of the "middle glob".

That will work as long as the sharks dont talk to one another and say "aim for the one in the middle." Laughing

Good Morning everyone!

Thank you for all the Birthday wishes! I finished the Bday challenge yesterday. It was a great way to spend the day! My Hubby was a trooper and did the challenge with me.  It all went really well, but I am exhausted. Today is going to be all about rest and recovery. Laughing

Team tri: I used miles 13 through 24 from my Olympic for my bike time. Total time was 37:35. I'll do my swim tomorrow, and the run either Saturday or Sunday. The run is going to be hard because I have a really tough time pushing myself to go fast on the run outside of a race, but I'll give it my best.

Have a great race this weekend, Holly!!!

Ok, back from meeting, pretty cool how close the numbers are.

Also some teams like Numero Uno only had one ride, now two so the numbers will fluctuate quite a bit I think.

Oh and for current averages I copied the data from the online spreadsheet and put it into an excel file.  The online ones are very sensitive.

Hey TEAM WON member keep that news on the down low. We don't need to pump the tires if Team 2 anymore....Maybe you can get out there and improve that run? 19 minutes for 5k is kind of weak isn't it? HA just kidding Doug that is unbelievably strong. I hope to get a quick ride in on my sprint this weekend. BUt wouldnt bank on anything better than 35 minutes.
