toddg - 2009-06-12 6:57 PM Forgot to post my news from yesterday. Our oldest (5 1/2) child figured out how to ride his bike without the training wheels yesterday. He's absolutely loving it now. Never really liked the bike much and we spent some time over the last two years trying to get him going on it but he just wasn't motivated to do it. Had a friend over yesterday who just decided to try the first bike we had for our son and he managed to ride it. So, our son then tried also and got it figured out. No idea how it worked out, but literally overnight he went from not balancing to today riding and turning succesfully.  Now he's all ready to get into IronKids

Mine girl is 8 and still won't ride.  I have resorted to bribery - she learns to ride, daddy pays for six months of barbie.com premium membership...  How sad is that?

Yeah!!!   Congrats to your little dude!    So exciting.  I'm working on my youngest, also 5, to get riding the two wheeler.  But, alas, he is scared.  All in due time!

We also bought one of the Skuut run bikes for our 2 year old, but she's not ready for it yet. I just gotta quit rushing them into stuff. They all get it figured out eventually when they're ready.

disturbed275 - 2009-06-12 9:22 PM So funny story.  I'm taking a shower tonight in my hotel room and shaving my legs.  I totally nicked one of the big veins running across the top of my foot.  This thing will not stop bleeding.  The maid is going to think I killed murdered someone when she sees my towel.

Anyway, no bandages so I had to ball up like 20 Kleenexes for a pad.  Then I rolled up the plastic laundry bag and tied it around the "pad" to apply pressure.

Yeah, I feel a little like MacGyver except without the cool hair.

Don't forget to remove the bag and Kleenexes before your HIM

This reminds me, when I had my Duathlon a couple of weeks ago they had a mini duathlon and there was a little girl with her bike with training wheels on. She was so cute

No kidding!  I don't want to talk about how many hundreds of dollars we have spent on that stuff!!  Crazy.  But, she does play with it so I guess it is worth it.

Alex is at Girl Scout camp.  I feel bummed she's there.  I like all my kiddos home.  Over protective mommy in me I guess.  But, I know she's having a good time.  And, the suns out!!!!

Where is Dee?  I think I need a good tasing!  I finished my tri today, not 100% happy with my performance.  RR is up.  I need to run more and swim more, especially OWS with no wetsuit.  My weaknesses were readily apparent today, that is for sure.   I am going to sign up for another tri that is on the same course in July.  I think I can do better!  Please feel free to chime in with advice for me if you have any.
