Tracking Bill it would seem his times are goofy.  Way long on the swim and averaging over 33 mph on the bike.  At least we can see that he is moving strong!

Ken, I couldn't find him on myathletelive.com.  I wonder if he turned on his GPS?  From IM tracking his last bike split really picked up.  I am tracking another person as well and his third bike split is much faster as well.  Must be something with the timers on the first two check points?

I bet the water temp was a factor in the swim.   Go Bill!

I did find him here, under Bill Denehy.  He is almost done with the bike it would appear.

Bringing back positive memories Kathleen?

Thanks. I did find him finally.  I think he turned his GPS on late.  He looks like he is doing well.

I have to say seeing some of the pictures brings back great memories. If the water was warmer, that would be a race I would do again.

Thanks Gang! It was something...i couldn't get the gps on after the swim. Between being discombobulated and the sun being too bright to see whether it was on or not, i waited until my first potty break to turn it on. I think the final was 12:38:xx, just under the over/under line, but not the way i expected. I dug deep on the run. I'll post more detail tomorrow, but thanks to you all for the encouragement and advice. I feel great, and terrible :-)

Happy Thanksgiving All!

And have a great race Ken. Do you "race" the trot or is it social?

I posted a RR and tried to link it here but must not have hit the right button. The RR doesn't do it all justice....Headed out to gorge myself and enjoy some family time.

Wow!  That cold this early!  We had 60's today but I guess the cold you are experiencing is going to be pushed our way over the next week!  You are a hardy soul to get out and run in that!  Good for you Robin!!

Today's is social, they don't time it and there are a lot of locals I know that run it! Lots of fun!

I read your report and commented!  You did a very good job out there on the course and wrote a nice report!  I enjoyed it.

The funny thing is I find doing the longer races is thinking about what is going on so I can put in the race report helps with focusing on something other than the effort!

Well not good for me because I didn't do it - psyched myself out and now today I may be too busy to get out.

Another day of food, friends and family planned! Life is good!

I extended the Thanksgiving break an extra day too... For me, eating and laying around though.  The only thing I did was firm up the 2013 race schedule some.

Ken, I pulled the trigger on the Peasantman up in Lake Keuka, but I'm doing the half.  Looking forward to meeting and cheering you on in the full!!

Hello All,

I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving. I participated in the local Turkey Trot and today took a cardio/strength class at the gym. I haven't taken that class in.. well maybe years. I am going to feel it tomorrow!

My father is a writer and just finished an article about his experience with cheering me on from afar at IMFL.   I thought I would share.

This is the off season, so if you are going to miss a workout, now is the time and especially to enjoy the holidays with friends and family!  Enjoy!

That is great Bill!  Looking forward to meeting you in person as well!!

Take your time with the recovery!! One of the things I like best about having our big races late in the year is that we have no need to rush the recover time and we can enjoy the holiday season without worrying about a workout.

Thanks,

Kurt

Absolutely Kurt, I would love to have you part of the group.  Sara (wittycitygirl) also said she might want to participate.  For the benefit of the rest of the group, Kurt and Sara were in my first mentor group and have both gone on to complete many tri's including IM's!

Kurt, until they figure out the next round of mentor groups, feel free to participate in the conversations here!

Cool! We'll have some new people in the group! Welcome! I think I'm going to be the only one left that's not an ironman.

Met with coach today and nailed down a good plan for the season. He's really optimistic about next year for me after seeing me out on the bike recently. He thinks we might be looking at avg speeds around 24mph for my HIMs next season!?? We'll see about that! Looks like I'll be doing some more local racing for prep and doing some Xterras too. That should be fun. I'm also talking with the wife about letting me do an April training camp in California with my coach and racing in the Sea Otter out there. Our little talk got me pretty pumped! ??
