Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Got out for a 5 mile trail run here in Yosemite. It's so awesome being in good enough shape that you can just go for a trail run like that for fun! Heading out now for a 9 mile hike with the kids. |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() jenputnam - 2012-06-13 10:23 AM And so here's a random, non training question.... My bike is white and silver and the handle bar wraps are white. I've added clip on aero bars and need to tap them but unsure of the color to use. White shows all the dirt so not really wanting to go that route. I'm gonna have the handlebars re wrapped in whatever I get. Thought I'd ask you guys and gals... That way when I'm training or racing I can see the color and think of ya'll. Any color other than black will show the dirt. There's nothing wrong with black clip ons on white handlebars. |

Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Thanks Mark.. Oh, I know everything will show dirt and I'm not going with black. I was thinking of a pink or blue argyle just because I like it but then though maybe you all would have cooler ideas. |

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() ernestov - 2012-06-13 12:21 PMI felt a bit upset that I couldn't get a full 70.3 miles in Boise so since I'm in a good fitness level I pulled the trigger for Buffalo Springs 70.3 in ten days. From icy to hellacious! Sunday, June 24th. Awesome, I knew you would find a way to make up for it!![]() |

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Thanks Chris for the heads up with the rest days, I'm actually planning on using mine towards the end of the month since I will be flying to Taiwan on a business trip and will loose 2 days getting there and 2 days getting back! Scott, how are you feeling for your Oly tri and what is your time goal? Andy, great race report and Escape from Alcatraz is now on my must do list! Joe and Ernesto, really cool that you signed up already for the next triathlons! I wanted to do a HIM on the 24th to see if I could leverage my fitness from the IM, but will have to go on a business trip instead. Today, 6.5 mile morning run + interval swim (15x100m) at lunch - Gabe : S 6 / B 6 / R 7/ Rest Days 1 ; Total = 19; 17:00'01" |

I've been watching some clips from TdF today (thay are showing them because of Lance's new doping allegations...) and well, I must say Jennie, cool or not, all serious cyclists have white or black bar tapes, I didn't see any argyle or, heaven forbid, pink. Please do not take it lightly. Just saying Edited by markz 2012-06-14 3:54 AM |

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() sirgab - 2012-06-13 11:06 PM Scott, how are you feeling for your Oly tri and what is your time goal? Physically I'm feeling ready. Mentally, not so much. I lost my long time training partner this morning. My 12 yo black lab mix had to be put down this morning. (His picture is on my training log) He woke me up about 4am having a Grand Mal seizure. The seizure lasted almost two hours. By the time we were able to get to an emergency vet, they felt that he had sustained brain damage. Then when they did an x-ray examination on him they found numerous tumors growing in his chest and brain. We made the call to end any potential suffering. He'd been running with me up until this spring when his joints just couldn't take it anymore. So sad to see him so willing to try to follow along, but his body just wouldn't let him anymore. |

So sorry to hear that Scott. I have a seven year old black labrador and went through almost exactly the same thing as you just did with my 18 year old siamese cat a year ago. (Seizures from tumors.) You did the right thing, however, in my opinion, by refusing end-of-life medical interventions. Again, sorry to hear about losing him. |
