2126 Baltimore, Maryland | Subject: RE: Beer Drinker Appreciation Society (BDAS)--OPEN Donated blood yesterday so I took it easy this morning. Supposed to get out early from work today but I have 2 big deadlines so am not sure I will be able to swing it. Either way I'm going to try to make it to the gym this afternoon, at least to do the elliptical or dreadmill for a little, but possibly to take a HIIT cycling class. |

New user 669 Madrid | Subject: RE: Beer Drinker Appreciation Society (BDAS)--OPEN Difficult to get in the mood for training these last few days of the year - too much eating and drinking....but no regrets, Jan 1st is a new year, already staring my marathon plan (end of April); in between hope to get a couple HM in the trails, and hopefully 1 HIM before summer. So for the rest of the year (3 days left) why should I bother? It was a wonderful year and thanks to your support (and very specially to DQ!!) I finished my first Ironman - will spend the rest of the week preparing dinner for my family and friends in New Years (25 for dinner), and after that, ready for to start again! Happy 2018, write down your dreams to make them projects and enjoy the weekend! Juan |

1941 , Vermont | Subject: RE: Beer Drinker Appreciation Society (BDAS)--OPEN Back in NY sitting reserve today. It’s cold out and I can’t bring cold weather running gear with me when I have to pack for 6 days in a carry-on and it includes uniforms. Instead I borrowed my roommates yoga mat and did some core work. I was home the last couple of days but we were celebrating a delayed Christmas, so didn’t have time to get to the gym. (There was time but it was frowned upon given my short time home). I start a 3 day trip tomorrow and I’m psyched to overnight in Raleigh, NC because there’s a really nice gym there. I’m really hoping it’s open on New Year’s Day though or I will be very sad. It should be a bit warmer there though I’m hoping, allowing me to run outside with the stuff I have. The next night I’ll be in Louisville and there’s a decent gym there too! My point is...I have no excuses! Yea!! |

Expert 4269 | Subject: RE: Beer Drinker Appreciation Society (BDAS)--OPEN It's time for you to post your goals of the week! Let's get the year started on a high note by achieving all our goals (I didn't achieve one of my goals last week, which means I earned myself a Coors Lite penalty which I will enforce on myself on New Year's Eve.) |

1007 DeLand, Florida | Subject: RE: Beer Drinker Appreciation Society (BDAS)--OPEN Hi All! Sorry for the long absence. Just spent a few hours reading through everything I've missed over the last four months (yikes!). After my tri season ended early (due to neck injury from the car accident keeping me out of the pool) I stayed on the bike and run through October. In September I did my longest ride ever (26 miles - don't laugh) for a charity ride. Very cool event - 4 Bridges Ride. Raises money for Save the Bay for Naragansett Bay, all 4 bridges go over parts of it. Glad it was foggy because those bridges are high up and I have a fear of heights... After that settled into running and PRd a Half Marathon in late October. Since then I've done exactly zero. Not because of lack of motivation, rather a lack of time. Big changes coming for me - we're in the process of selling the house and moving into an apartment while a new house is constructed - 1300 miles away. I've spent all my time since the HM working a ton extra (HUGE deadline in December) and every free minute thereafter working on the house to get it sale ready. Hope everyone is well! Oh - Juan thanks for the tip over the summer for the book 'Accidental Ironman' - I picked up a copy and it was a fantastic, hysterical read (even if I didn't always get the British humor). Highly recommended, very quick read. Happy New Year!! |

2126 Baltimore, Maryland | Subject: RE: Beer Drinker Appreciation Society (BDAS)--OPEN Hey everyone! I hope everyone had an amazing holiday season! I had a really good time, but started feeling a little achy on Sunday. Took some meds and still rang in the new year with my neighbors. Went home at 12:45 because I was pretty sure I needed rest. Sure enough, I felt super fevery and achy yesterday. Finally went to the doctor today and it turns out I have strep throat. It sucks because before that I was on a roll with workouts. Thursday I went to run on the dreadmill at the gym. Went to a HIIT spin class Friday followed by a core class. Was going to hit up some classes Monday morning but judging by the way I felt I decided I should rest. Pretty sure I would've passed out/died. Depending on how well I sleep tonight, gonna try to hit up boot camp tomorrow morning, get back into a groove. Parking at the gym is going to suck though! All the resolutioners! Hope everyone stays warm and have a nice start to your year! |

1941 , Vermont | Subject: RE: Beer Drinker Appreciation Society (BDAS)--OPEN Yikes, Nicole, take care and feel better! Strep is no joke! Rest up and come back strong. 3 miles for me on the dreadmill in Birmingham, AL. You would have thought it would be warm but alas, 31 degrees here. This is normally fine to run in but I don’t have my cold weather running gear. Got it done on the hamster wheel! Not fast and not long, but it was something, so I’m going with it! Stay warm, all! |

Expert 4269 | Subject: RE: Beer Drinker Appreciation Society (BDAS)--OPEN Originally posted by EHouse20 Yea, great race Nicole..and good luck with the new job Dave. Again, don't worry about what has happened just control what happens from here on out. You got this and we know you can get creative in getting a workout in, go for it. Also, forgot to mention after my race last weekend that my new home brew was ready and very good. I think I mentioned a while back that I got a home brew kit for my bday (Northern Brewer) and had started that process. Well race day (last weekend) was four weeks and go time. It's a Chinook IPA, not terribly hoppy for an IPA but a really good beer especially coming from someone who has never done it before. Asked for a few more for Christmas so we'll see how this new hobby evolves. Anyways, hope everyone is doing well and having a good week so far. We have a Christmas luncheon on Thursday and off Friday so shorter week this way. Then we'll be headed to Kansas for the holidays with the in-laws. Everyone have a great week and good luck with your training. |
