BTW, since this is BT, anyone got any OWS hints for me?
I messed up that portion of my race yesterday. It is really different without a wetsuit....
I'm thinking of attending a OWS clinic, but don't know what to expect. Has anyone been to one?
How/why do you feel that you "messed it up?"
Basically, the key to open water swimming is to just, well, practice it lots. Start out where the water is flat and calm. Then when you're comfortable with that, go to someplace where it's choppier/more wavy.
Get used to breathing on either side. This helps you breathe away from the chop. Also, you can sight the shoreline to gauge your distance.
