Sprint_DA - 2008-07-21 6:25 AM Good morning everybody. So it's storming pretty bad outside right now. This morning I have to go to a meeting with my boss and one of my bigger customers to discuss why he's $180k behind on purchases compared to last year. Unfortunately my company car died over the weekend (bad battery in a car with 14k miles on it) so I was planning on using my motorcycle to get to the meeting. Not sure exactly how I'm going to work it all out now. Oh well. Hope y'all have a good day.

Wow, we really aren't having the best of luck with cars during this TAN are we?  Stay safe out there, I'm pretty sure there was some hail smacking against my door last night.  This is a bad storm set, even compared to the ones we've already had this year.

Morning fellow TANinmates.

Well, last morning in DSM. X confirmed pickup of children tomorrow, so they'll spend the night with my parents. Plane leaves for Cali vis Phoenix at 2:50 PM CDT.

I had a good visit with my children. I'm going to miss them... wish they were coming back to Cali with me. But I'm looking forward to going home... I've missed The Blonde, too. She's picking me up at the airport; flights is supposed to arrive in Cali at 7:00 PM PDT. Cool

Have a good flight back Spokes.  Glad you had a good visit with your kids.

This is what I get for complaining about the old car having so many miles on it that it was going to leave me stranded out in the middle of nowhere.  New one with no miles on it leaves me stranded, luckily only about half a mile from home.  It'll get fixed though.

Bah - just got thrown a big mess from the Pres of the company (everything from him is always a mess), so need to focus on that. Will probably be boring for the better part of today.

Sweet. At least you'll have a chance to impress her with your brain... since you obviously don't stand a chance relying on your beauty.

I can smell the fear from here.

Be glad I'm not moving to PA any time soon.

So, had a big meeting scheduled for this morning. But my boss just called and said we're going to move it back to either this afternoon or sometime mid-morning to late afternoon on Thursday.  Reason for cancellation: his basement may flood.  MAY flood.  Like the water may come up through the sump pump hole, but as of right now it's down more than a foot.  Great.  Well, looks like I'll have some time to TAN today.

jdwright56 - 2008-07-21 7:58 AM Morning TAN.

Morning JD! Are you back in Iowa yet?

I am - I was actually back on Thursday - but left again to go camping this weekend - to the Galesburg area.  Yeah - rainstorm on Saturday night andd the tent collapsed.  Have I ever told you alll how much I hate tent camping.

On the way home my wife's car starts making this knocking noise - sounds like something in the manifold.  It was around the Iowa City area.  I had the tow truck guy take it to Des Moines.  $500+ tow bill.  When I got home there was a piece of mail from the car company telling us about a recall for a clip in the manifold that would make a knocking noise and rob power from the engine.  I notified the dealer this morning that they would be paying the tow bill under the warranty and recall.  He tried to argue.  It ended quickly.

This exact reason is why a AAA membership is worth its weight in GOLD. And a reminder that I need to renew mine...

Nice job, Ms. K.

I introduced a friend to the wonders of clipless pedals Firday.

Him: "This is AWESOME!"

Me: "Told you so."
