I leave the Daddy Long Legs for that, because I know they are harmless. I don't know what these kind are - don't know if they bite or not. Besides, I'd rather my roommate clean up after themselves than host a bunch of gross spiders We don't have an ant problem, but I've noticed some gnats in the kitchen, which is on account of my roommates not cleaning well - my old roommates never cooked, and I always wiped the counters down when I was done and we never had them.

I bet they're actually fruit flies, not gnats.  That's more consistent with not cleaning up in the kitchen regularly.

We started getting a different kind of spider than normal.  Maybe they are coming in for the fall.

I HATE FRUIT FLIES!! I don't know why...but I do!

TOP of the morning folks!

I hate fruit flies because I used to have to maintain colonies of them for biology labs.

Disgusting.

Yeah, I sort of classify all those tiny little flying things as "gnats" - I know they're probably fruit flies. Either way, they are annoying and feeding the giant spiders. And then I had a dream about HUGE spiders last night. ick.

That was my first thought as well... If I heard that I would have automatically asked to talk to his supervisor.

Kido... your folks are coming into town for homecoming?  I'll make sure I wave at the people dressed in WVU gear... there can't be too many of them. heh.

so I am gonna go dig some dirt and all and probably make some forms for the concrete.

I had to go to 'speech therapy' for a brief period of time when I was in 2nd/3rd grade, because I started talking before I had any front teeth and when I was really little, I sucked my thumb, so there was a gap between my front teeth (fixed with braces, thankfully) and so my "s" was a bit over pronounced - not a lisp,  or a "th" sound. Just more of an "s" than there should be. It was really embarassing to have to go to speech therapy.

The "homemade granola" thread that is what shows up next to the nutrition forum header is making me hungry. I keep envisioning the really good granola that my ex used to buy at Costco.

he makes all the sounds just fine... even the hard ones for his age... his expressive speech development is behind... and since the therapy is available as part of the state's early intervention program we will take advantage of it.

The pediatrician said that there is no research showing that this is beneficial but it isn't harmful either... we're not worried. we're just getting some new ideas to see what else could help.

If I ever get married, I'm having 2 and stopping there, unless for some reason I end up with twins on the second round. Seems like it's the thing to have three kids these days - lots of families I know are on, or just had their third. I've sat for three kids at once, and know that I do NOT want three. Two is perfect.
