GM peeps.  60's here all week.  Too bad I can't skip out on work, but now that we changed the clocks ahead, it gets dark at 7!! So I can prob get some rides in at night.

Scored an unbelievable deal on a new Mountain Bike. Some friends just bought the 2012 Specialized Epic Comp 29"er. It's $3500. I was really in need of a new race bike. But didnt want to spend that much money right now. Long story short, found a local guy selling his 2012 Epic Comp.  He busted his ankle up in motorcross, and needed to sell his bike.  I talked him downt o $1,900!!  What a steal. And it's been ridden about 8-10 times.  Normally for racing, I'd ride a Hard Tail.  But this is full suspension, and made for racing.  It's as light and as fast as a hardtail. and the rear suspension has this new technology that Specialized calls "the Brain".  It happens to know when to compress and when not to, especially when sprinting.

Have a great day

Pictures?

So my Dad, who has been a bit less than supportive about tris, offers to go halves with me on a bike last night.  So weird.  So I guess we'll see what the fitting on Saturday gives me and I'll move forward from there.

Today's swim was okay I guess.  Really wish I could piece together 2 good swims in a row.  I need a vacation from my vacation.

Bryan my oldest said "This thing is cool Dad but what is it?"  I'm such a bad Dad.

Oh and Carrie, maybe he does.  However he is also the one who openly questions my priorities with how much time I spend training and mocks my dedication to eating right. So thus the weird comment.

Question regarding sugars.  I use Myfitnesspal to log food, and my sugar is always way over, all becuase of the amount of fruit I take in.  Other than that, my other sugars are limited.  Is this still an issue?

Not really due to your activity level.  Natural sugars and refined sugars really should be treated differently.  There are even diets, like Weight Watchers, that don't count the calories from fruits to encourage eating them.  Now if you were really sedentary and eating WAY over it may become an issue.

I've had a rough start to the week with work, early starts and late finishes. Not good for training, or eating right.

Weight this week, 236.1lbs. Up again, not happy with myself.

On the other hand I did better than I expected on my tri on the weekend, (Race report is in my logs) so it's not all bad.

I've been in a bit of a funk lately -- being sick, having to deal with athsma issues and lots of stress at work.  I haven't been hitting my training marks and its bummed me out quite a bit.  I was pleasantly surprised this morning when I ran 3 x 1 mile repeats.  They were solid:

Mile 1 - 6:47 / 162 bpm
Mile 2 - 6:28 / 166 bpm
Mile 3 - 6:40 /163 bpm

Now I just have to figure out why I can't put together a 20:30 5K.

How much rest in between each mile?
