There you go, Kirsten!!

cdban66 - 2012-10-16 7:37 PM50 miles running in a week challenge. I just got this from Road ID. They are giving a $10 gift card to anyone who completes the challenge.http://www.strava.com/challenges/road-id-lace-em-up-challengeSound like anyone we know?
I never wanted a road ID But my boss may have convinced me through a series of worst case scenario stories at happy hour.

Me neither but probably should.  On those occasions when I'm out and it's lonely down on that beach, be nice if someone could identify me!

Watch out Salty - today i ran 7min kms - soon I'll be catching you when you go for a walk.

Yeah, I don't have a Road ID, but I did get a set of dog tags made. I feel better knowing if I'm in a heap on the side of the road that someone can get in touch with Ann. I think she feels better as well. I ALWAYS wear it when I bike, usually when I run. Go Jo, keep that engine turning!

I wear one ALWAYS when I bike and when 75% of the time when i run.  I give them for gifts and I try to convince my training partners to wear them.  It's so simple and it could be SO helpful!! (Manatees: get one!!)

I was given one for my birthday this year. I have to say I was not great at remembering to put it on when I went out bikin or running. Finally started storing it with my HRM and that helped.

Morning Manatees! It's been a bit crazy for me lately.  Finally got an answer on my wrist - having surgery Friday to fix it.  Sorry I haven't been around much!

I keep mine on my bike's stem when not using it...  as a result, I sometimes forget it when running, but I never forget it when biking (and to me it's most important to wear it when biking...)

Yikes!  Good luck with the challenge, Chris! I know you will do it.

And yeah, I'm a Road ID user and believer.  I wear it biking 100% of the time and running most of the time.  I wear an ankle one for biking, and I keep it in my helmet with my gloves, etc. when I'm not riding, so I see it and have to do something with it (like put it on) if I want to put my helmet on.  Running: I have one for my wrist but it doesn't always 'live' with my other running stuff and occasionally doesn't get put on.

Ohh no, not me. I'm thinking Salty will get more free stuff if she does the challenge, since 50 miles is like 3 days for her.

Speaking of free stuff, I was asked to be a lab rat for the new Brooks Pure 3 line.

That is actually a good question. I got an e-mail out of the blue. Brooks HQ is located here in SEA and I have a few really random contacts. It could have come from them, the fact our running club is sponsored by Brooks or the random fact I bought a few pair of brooks from their website (and complained, mind you ... ) I know they also have a program you can apply to be a shoe tester but I have larger than average feet and they usually seek the average from what I understand.

Who knows.

Welp, I'm in Jakarta. It's my mom's 79th birthday tomorrow. My sister begged me not to go because we think my dad might hold me hostage. It's cool; I have multiple exit strategies. He hasn't done anything wicked so far, although of course I just got here and haven't tried to leave yet.

Thanks!  It's a scope and a partial neurectomy (nerve removal).  I'll have a very small - 3cmish - incision and some holes from scope, but nothing too bad.  Doc expects that I'll be back at work on Monday.

I always thought my ID would suffice. It hadn't even occurred to me to have contact info or blood type until my boss's doomsday scenario. Especially considering our already limited rights by not being married. I really should find out my blood type.

They are pretty specific about requirements, but it is definitely worth signing up.
