Ann, how are the kids liking their school this year now that they have had a week to settle in?

Morning Ghoulies.

I am waiting for the doctors office to open to see about this infection. Felt it coming on yesterday, and sure enough. I am getting sick.

I need to nip this in the bud!

Caleb was sick when he got home from school on Monday. He has a sore throat and runny nose, no energy at all.

Didn't we decree that no one was to get sick anymore?

Keri is really enjoying it. I was a little worried about her keeping up in the 5th grade because of her reading issues, but she has language arts with the Support Specialist, and her Resource period (study hall) is in her room as well, so she gets additional help. I went to send her an email just to see how things are going.

Caleb I think is glad to be back, he has some classes he likes this year, he's actually excited about Home Ec. He has better teachers this year than he did last year, which really shows in his attitude towards some subjects we fought about last year.

I hope the rest of the year goes as well as the first week has for both of them. Thanks!

Originally posted by ceilidh Kendra, We missed you this weekend but I am glad you got quality time in with the family and a hike, too. It was fabulous weather this weekend to be able to enjoy it. For only the second weekend all summer!

Looks like you did the tri with your friend.  Way to go girl!

It was good! They kept the course open for her for 1/2 hour longer than they "should" have. I guess she chose her first tri wisely after all.

Next year... GHOULIE PILE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Spectating is fun, too. I enjoyed the heck out of watching Jim run up the mountain.)

I will put it on my calendar and hope that family does not get in the way again.  Of, course I love my family, but sometimes you want to do stuff with your Ghoulies!

Ann - no excuse next year.  You already got the car!

what she said

I am doing my best to put in a weather request for the same weather next year as this year.

I still think the other Ghoulies should show up!

I would love to be there--it's just a really tricky time of year for us, with both kids starting school (The Girl will be starting college next year---eek!), The Girl's birthday, 3 of my inlaws with birthdays in the last week of August (and the expectation that we visit for a family reunion at that time...), and Hubby is almost always out of town in the second half of August.

I had actually told my family about the olympiad the last 2 summers--this summer they were really interested in going, the timing just didn't work out.

That would be fun!  Don't know if I will ever get back east but I will put that in hopper for next year's adventures.

All you have to do is get here and some food. Free place to stay and we have LOTS of room.

hint, hint

That is great news!

Tell Caleb to get better. I just got antibiotics to nip this in the bud, ASAP!

So my new car has a name. He shall be called Mac, short for Mackelmore. It was a unanimous decision by me and the kiddos.

Another hot, humid, cloudy day with a chance of afternoon thunderstorms. That' has been the same pattern we've had since Monday, and it is to stick around through Labor Day.

I'm going to see if I can wfh tomorrow. The kiddos have off school and would like to sleep in. I would like to sleep in, too. 3 day weekend, but I'm on call. :-/

We are finally having some "summer weather" here. Hot with chance of afternoon rain shower. Instead of the NW USA like weather we have been having. The summer night sounds almost faded away. Last night they were back at their "almost too loud to sleep" level. Which makes me sleep like a baby.

I hope it stays that way for the weekend. I want to play in the yard. Well, it could be not 100 degree hot and I wouldn't complain.

HA HA HA!  Nope.  Working that day.  We are hoping to get in a motorcycle ride on Monday though, and then have dinner with my son.

We have had trees start dropping leaves already due to the cool weather we've been having.  Today should reach a high of 91 degrees, hottest day yet this summer.  Crazy weather this year.

It has been crazy. We could hit 90, too. It would be the first, and only day in August we hit 90. That's unheard of!

Good Morning Ghoulies!

DH is on vacation until next Tuesday.  I am working today and tomorrow and then am off until Tuesday.  Our plans are basically to do projects around the place.  With time out for some fun of course.  Dinner & games with friends on Sunday.

And we have had a quite dry, warm summer!  Which has indeed been a nice change from "the NW USA like weather."  Wink
