You can buy the pasta dinner at the stand there.  They will also have a few other food vendors as well.

You can buy it on the spot. But advance warning - it's really atrocious (or at least it was last year). I ended up throwing mine away and buying something else. It's also run by (and benefits) a church group, so if you aren't into that sort of thing...

Funny, I was just reading the athlete update email, and thought it odd that they stated something like "don't count on teh pre race dinner to be enough or to your liking"

LOL! The crepe booth saved me the night before the race last year with MUCH better food than the pasta dinner.

Holy crap, there are CREPES? If I had any doubt if I wanted to show up on race day, that just made my decision. ;-)
I'm so excited, 4 days, some-odd hours!!!

Not only crepes, but big hionking ice cream cones too

two observations
1) NWS now says no rain, partly cloudy, 77 degrees (but check back in 2 hours )
2) My coach jsut told me not to use a HRM on the course.   Weird, but it makes sense, especially on this course.

that is all.

If I am orienting myself right, that wind would make for a very fast backside though, eh?

Can I attach a little motor to my bike? for nasty grade? I think I am going to take my big ring on the front crank and make it the big ring on my cassette and the small ring on my cassette and make it the small ring on my front crank just for the grade.

Oh man, these were soo good I put a pic in my race report last year, they are the size of a small football, worth every penny, I had one after the race, don't know what I was thinking skipping the free orange slices!

hey here's a sort of random question, not about the race itself but about the whole festival.  for the food vendors, is it cash only or do they take credit cards?  is there an ATM on site somewhere?  i'm assuming clothing vendors would take credit.

thanks in advance!  just want to make sure i've got the $ on hand...

Meh.  I definitely would rather my first tri in the rain not be WF.  (Not even so much for the race as the camping...)

Yup, it's gonna be what it is.

Here's a more detailed forecast from NWS.  Northern Cal is def. getting rain, guess they're just not sure how far south it's going to go.  Sure doesn't sound like much.

Tell you what, I'll take a few passing showers and 74 degrees over 115 (two weeks ago) and 25 mph winds (last weekend) anyday

So it couldn't possibly be worse than that... a t least it will be too warm to hail.

Current forecasts (yeah, i cycle through them all ,,,,, about every 1/2 hour ) now show rain starting anywhere b/w 6-8 pm Friday, but tapering off anywhere 3-5 am Sat, then partly cloudy, hi 60s. 70 after that, with a passing shower, very little wind prior to noon.

I am thinking positive and believing that the campground will be a little wet in the a.m. but that the racing conditions are going to be epic, and that we see some really fast times out there (well, not from me )
