Veteran 110 Calgary | Subject: RE: swbkrun's group - FULL cadmus - 2008-05-14 3:59 PM Hey all, Just a quick check in while on vacation. I had an awesome mountain bike ride w/ my wife this morning. The rocky terrain is very different from home, challenging and fun. We're going to ride again before we leave for sure. I'm in love w/ the slickrock. Running from the condo here is a bit challenging. It's very much like hill repeats, except on different hills of varying lengths (picture a roller coaster, a very steep roller coaster). I'm really just glad to be able to run without pain, especially since that's the only discipline I can really do here. The pool in our complex is about 3 strokes end to end and the only lap pool in town is $20/session (I know, WTF). Ok, the margaritas are ready and the pool is calling my name... later
Sounds like someone is soaking up some sun somewhere nice a tropical????? Make sure you send us some pictures so I can be more jealous.
hope you are having a good one. Perry |

Master 2436 Apex, north carolina | Subject: RE: swbkrun's group - FULL Age old question, but how do you keep your goggles from fogging up! I've tried the spitting in them technique, but that doesn't seem to work. Maybe I'm doing it wrong( iS that possible ). Do any of those de-fogger products work? Is it just a handycap of swimming?

I do that. Here is a break down of my technique: I spit in them, swish it around, then dunk them in the pool before putting them on. Should I not be dunking them back in the pool? |

Master 1952 Guelph, Ontario | Subject: RE: swbkrun's group - FULL There is special lens cleaners which you can get at sports shops to prevent fogging. One thing I have tried in the past is a bit of vaseline. It can blur you vision a bit (streaky) but you might give it a try. |

Veteran 131 Austin, Texas | Subject: RE: swbkrun's group - FULL The lens cleaner seems to work so you may want to try that. It might also depend on the goggle that you are using. I have been using the Aqua Sphere Kaiman goggles and haven't had any problems with them. |

Veteran 110 Calgary | Subject: RE: swbkrun's group - FULL I've given up on trying to keep them unfogged. I usually just take them off at the end of a set to clear them out again. I just bought new one so they are ok and I have no troubles. I figure if it is foggy it is good practive for an OWS. You can;t see anything anyways in an OPS, so i am told..... |

Champion 9060 Charlottesville, Virginia | Subject: RE: swbkrun's group - FULL I love sedona we have been there a few times. Have a picture up over our mantle from there. I had a bike fitting on Thursday and got a chance to go out for a ride with my new setup (and first time outside on aerobars) I can't believe the difference. I was flying down the trail, it was the same trail I did my tri on a few weeks ago and I think I was about 5mph faster overall. Basically I bought a new seat, the Adamo race saddle, he raised the seatpost, moved the seat forward a bit, took out a spacer and made a few small adjustments. Amazing what a difference it made. |

Elite 5316 Alturas, California | Subject: RE: swbkrun's group - FULL Hias all, no mountain lion didnt get me. Been out of town and such. Anyway I went and tried out some new shoes and love em. My first pair was fine, then they "improved them" and the new version tore the hell out of my feet. I just did a 13 miler trail run in the new ones and they were fine. Fresh out of the box they are wayyy better than the others after being broken in for 150 + miles. I hate it when they "improve a good product" so that it sucks. Anyway hopefully I am on the mend. Although I did turn my foot some on a rock, please let it have not done anything to me (icing it atm) though it doesn't hurt tonight. Hopefully, I can get into some regular, non ill, non injured training again. Oh and I got a swimming wetsuit.(Zoot) guess I need to learn to swim now. I got a book on it so that should be all I need, well and somewhere to swim. Oh well night all. Edited by Baowolf 2008-05-18 12:39 AM |

Master 1952 Guelph, Ontario | Subject: RE: swbkrun's group - FULL I managed to get in a run friday night. Saturday I spent all day puttng in hardwood floors so I missed the 700 m swim I was scheduled for. Sunday I got in 20 minute bike ( had a problem with the bike) and 25 minute run before the rain drove me off the road and I had to go back to laying hardwood. It was kind of nice at first running in a light mist but when it started to come down hard it wasn't fun at all. Only 3 weks until my first tri. I'm really looking forward to it. |

Have my next tri on June 1st so this is my last good week of training, going to take it easy next week. I'm not sure what I'll get in this week. I ended up getting really sick the last day and a half of vacation, so much so that I lost 7 lbs. I'm still a little tired today, but otherwise feeling better. My HR monitor came in and I'm itching to try that out, so I'll probably get back to physical activity in the next day or so. |
