Well, hmmm. I guess I could die and no one would pay attention Tongue out

I thought you might say that after returning from lunch.

Do what makes you happy. But you don't seem to know what that is--nor do I, frankly, but there's a peaceful acceptance of the fact that I have no idea what makes me happy, so I just do whatever seems right at the time.

Well, there are sea lions swimming in the Sacramento River right now and that's kind of nice to watch... which we did at lunch.

I have some unresolved issues that I won't bore TAN with that are driving my urge to race somewhat.

They better not involve some stupid hairy gorilla.

Even money it does.

Some days I feel like golfing, so I golf.

Some days I feel like fishing, so I fish.

Some days I feel like riding my jet ski, so I go jet skiing.

Some days I feel like riding my motorcycle, so I go for a ride.

Some days I feel like training, so I train.

Some days I feel like riding my dirtbike, so I rip through the woods on it.

Some days I feel like having wings and beers with my buddies, so I head to the bar.

Have I made my point yet? You're making it a chore... and it'll never be fun that way.

Some more than other, a Ryna?!?!?!!?

- 2008-05-06 3:04 PM mmm.. bubble tea... mmmm

Just can't force myself to try the bubble tea. Almost did it a couple of weekends ago, then I stopped.

What is scary about it?  I've never had it.

As it was explained to me - by the guy at the store - it is tea with tapioca in it.  Am I right about this?

MISSCULLEN - flavor of CHOICE!!!! please..... I need a response ASAP. I will not be able to continue my day without it.....

I prefer acai berry, strawberry, or green tea flavored (maybe mango too) smoothie with bubbles..... I like those fat straws too...

What the hell is bubble tea.....I have never heard of it?

Elixir of the gods ... with a dessert in it!

Also known as boba tea ... it is sweet cold tea/juice, sometimes with milk, that has these yummy round little gummy things in it, soft on the outside, denser in the middle, delightfully chewy.

Dang, now I need to make a road trip and find a Boba/Bubble tea distributer in the area to poychase one....  Maybe around 3:00.......

Well, hmmm. I guess I could die and no one would pay attention Tongue out

Reposting from earlier... this weeks' "Why I am Thinking of Quitting Race" muse:

This is not a 'poor me' post, I'm actually in quite a good mood.

It just this simple - I can get somewhat better, but its going to take a ton of work and I'll still never be very competitive or fast, and I can 'look good' without killing myself to get ready for these races. I simply want to ride my bike and not feel pressured to go out and run all the time, or feel like 'one of these days I have to get into the pool'.

I've raced less and less starting with 2006 being the most (although most of those were 5Ks and I could easily just ride and do nothing but 5Ks). But what's the point of staying active on a tri site if you're not interested in doing what it takes to do them well? For what some of these races cost, these are a lot of nice weekends relaxing at the beach or at a hotel.

Plus, I really feel like I'm neglecting my guitar and my writing.

So....what are you saying? That you're done posting on BT? That you're done racing?

You do what's right for you. And no one here can tell you what's right for you, other than yourself.

If you want to take some time off, then do it.

Nah, I'll still ride and do 5Ks. I just don't feel like busting my butt to do 'well' at a multisport event. What the last year has taught me is that I can be a decent runner, but I'm not willing to put the time into it to becoming a good decent runner

I'd have to give up too much bike time, including bike commuting, because my body simply can't do more than X hours training before its tired all the time and I don't do anything well.

I dont do anything well either but I always have fun doing it and I think that is what is important.   I think I could push myself harder if I wanted to but i am comfortable with my level of fitness and it seems to be improving on it's own as I age....go figure?  I teach at a club in the morninings after taking my son to school and I think if I didnt have that commitment my day may never start.  I dont open my toy store until 11am it is in a downtown location so that time works well.  Alot of times my mind and body will tell me how much I hate running, biking and swimming but once I get going it feels great and I wonder what my day would have been like if I didnt get my moving.  All the stress and is gone for that short period of time and boy that is great.

pretty close.  The pearls are much bigger (about 1/3 inch in dia.) and black.  I hate it when they short change me on the boba and run out half way through the drink.....

Unfortunately, they do. Which is why I need therapy.

Which is why I'm not talking about it further.

One last thought on this...

If this site is one of the sources of information for that stuff, then you need to maybe consider going somewhere they are not.  Because what you're doing is unhealthy.

Speaking of straws - I don't like them. They are just plane silly and should be outlawed.

It's a VOLUME thing. If I'm thirsty, I can't get enough fluids at a rapid enough rate. First thing I do when the server brings me a soda with a straw? Throw it on the table.

Now, if you are talking Bubble tea straws, that's a different story. Extra large diameter allowing a MUCH higher flow rate. I lof bubble tea straws.....

I <3 straws.  They keep the glass from looking all lip glossy.  They keep the ice off my lip.  They keep the ice outta my mouth so I don't CRONCH CRONCH CRONCH it...they are great.  McDonald's straws are the BEST.

you know - they say chewing ice is a sign of sexual frustration.

Know what I hate?  Is when my SO makes me sample her drink with her straw that's all lip glossy.  I just end up tasting the lip gloss flavor of the day.  Ick....  How can you girls where that stuff it you taste it every time you eat or drink something?

O holy night...I didn't see THAT in the Wiki def.  (See, Schwamm, I will learn one of these days to use that FIRST...=)  That sounds...barfalicious.

Now you see why I didn't pulll the trigger.  I didn't want to spew in the mall.

The only drink I drink from a straw is a Godfather. Actually, 2 of the little mixing straws.

It's just kinda my thing

Sometimes I drink a captain and coke with a straw... so I can mix it, and I don't drink it as fast.

The drinking method of choice for me when indulging in Jameson on the rocks with 4 lemons...  mmmmmmmmmm
