Master 1726 Sacramento, California | Subject: RE: Mother Truckers Team Thread - Nov USMC Challenge Nice Job everyone! I did abs and stretching last night...not sure what I am going to do today...may end up being a rest day...I got up at 5 and went to vote this morning because I have an 8:30 meeting and then I have to be out of work by 3:30 today or I won't be able to get to my house ( I live about 500 yards from where Obama is holding his rally). Normally I run on Tuesdays, but that would take me within 100 feet of the rally and I doubt the SS will allow that. I guess I can rock the dreadmill |

In the past year I have done a 5k, 10 mile, half mary, 30k trail run (8k elevation gain) last weekend, Sprint, Oly and HIM. I am trying to get in shape for my first Full Mary in January and possibly a full IM this time next year. This is a recovery week, so I should be up and good to go for the start of November. I live in NE California and we have had our first snowstorm of the season, but it should be a pleasant 50 and rainy as November starts. Hi Steve. Long time since we've been on a team together. I promise to behave. Edited by kns57 2008-11-04 9:05 AM |

Expert 1157 Tremonton, Utah | Subject: RE: Mother Truckers Team Thread - Nov USMC Challenge Got my swim on this morning as well. I'm in the early risers club. I'm usually working out by 6 am or so, because I like to get it done and out of the way. If I don't get it done in the morning, it frequently doesn't happen for me. Good swim this morning, but cut a little short so I could go vote. Folks were out in droves. Got to the polling place about 10 minutes before it was open and there were like 200 people in line. Dont' forget to vote team! Very important election in my mind, regardless of which party you support!
Have a great day all.

(i love red, btw) i am planning on doing another round of strength stuff this morning, the perhaps another run. right now the sun is shining, and i'm tempted to ride my bike. hmmmmm. maybe if dh hurries up and gets home, i'll have enough sunshine for a quick ride. that would please me. my area went to an all mail-in vote thing, so i voted about 10 days ago, hooray for not having to wait in line at the polls. AND i'm willing to pay SERIOUS $$ for a couple of undisturbed hours and a soft bed. maybe even throw in a pillow. seriously, it's been like 5 days and i've had maybe 11 hours of sleep. i'm upright ONLY for the love of coffee and diet coke. AND i suppose i should admit that having run the last couple of days has kept me out of the dark place. so it's a good thing. list of things i wish for today 1. sleep 2. an indoor pool 3. enough sunshine for a bike ride 4. an ipod 5. new running shoes 6. 7. a calm end to the election nonsense 8. sleep 9. more coffee 10. diet coke 11. starbucks 12. sleep 13. sleep oh wait, i think i dozed off there for a sec a good day to all you mother truckers. |

I *heart* lists, especially when there is no number 6, of course, and that list is a good one. Staying out of the dark place is a most excellent reason to run or bike or swim or hike or read or stand on your head or anything else at all that keeps some sunshine there . |

Okay, I am still new here and so I wonder what the story behind you and frogs is! :-) Ummm... I like them? No, seriously, I have a thing for frogs that started as a joke among some of the coolest people I know. We used to buy each other the most obnoxious cards we could find and started noticing a trend... a lot of them had frogs/frog jokes on them. From there we started buying frog-themed gifts. Some are actually really nice... most are really outrageous/ridiculous, but fun/funny. My most treasured frog of all, however, is a tiny silver one that my BFF gave me when I was dealing with a difficult medical diagnosis and she made this huge presentation and told me that he was the frog of allllllllllllllllllll kinds of things (laughter, healing, hope, joy... blah, blah, blah). It helped that she made the speech while insisting that we both wear tiaras and drink champagne. I carry him with me wherever I go and now whenever I'm sick I frequently say "I need more frog". Yeah, that was fascinating, I know.... are you sorry you asked???

ooh I love frogs! And toads for that matter. As a kid I used to keep them both as pets. I think I'm more partial to toads though cuz they were more fun to watch eat. I would dig up all kinds of worms and beetles and other insects and feed them to my "pets" |

Champion 10742 Ames, IA | Subject: RE: Mother Truckers Team Thread - Nov USMC Challenge I managed to escape work at 2:30 this afternoon. I voted. The lines were short and sweet at that time. After that it was time for a bike ride. Normally, in the summer, this would not have been a day I would have picked to go for a ride. 20 mph winds gusting up to mid-30s. Uh...no thank you. But we are having record highs in the 70s and there is snow in the forecast for Friday so I felt obligated to get out there. I was lucky to stay on my bike. The wind was knocking me all over the place. When it was a tailwind it was great. I could've done that all day. When I got turned around it was awful. It was a struggle the rest of the way home. To put it in perspective it took me 38" to get to my turnaround point and 50.5" to get back. Hah! Great workout though. Glad I did it |

The kids loved watching her. I also had a king snake as a class pet at one point... his name was Elvis, obviously. |
