Given the crew that's going it could turn into as much of a drinking junket as anything else. |

Let's just say it was an adventure. I would like to do it again sometime though details, we need details So my gf at the time and her family, all of whom are very experienced skiers, decided to take me skiing. I was excited to learn but soon found out that I wasn't all that great at it. The first few hours were entertaining for them as they basically just laughed at me as I sorta rolled down the mountain over and over again. Either persistence or ego compelled me to continue until I could make it down a few slopes without wiping out and I was finally able to do so by the end of the day. It was a struggle though, much harder than I anticipated. I figured I could pick it up in the first hour or so but instead it took me all day. Funny thing is I've been kinda itching to go again ever since then. |

Good for you to keep at it It does get easier and more & more fun, I promise! If you get a chance to go again, you should get a lesson or two. I can't even tell you how many lessons I took, and they were beyond helpful. All this talk of skiing makes me realize how much I really miss it!! When I was in high school I was on a ski team and skied 5-6 days a week. In college I still got out a couple times a week. Living in the city, as lovely as it is, makes it a lot harder to get out there. I'm going to take a stab in the dark and say the last time I skied was almost 6 years ago! |

I don't think skiing is something that is easy to learn on one's own i totally get that you want another crack at the mountain! |

We thought about going again the next day but I was a little too sore from all the crashing and using all those muscles I wasn't used to using |

Expert 1202 Montana | Subject: RE: Team GALILEO: Stick to the Plan Skiing was pretty good today. The snow wasn't as good as yesterday, but I had good rythm, and the bumps were fun! On tap for tomorrow, one day of MEGA shopping for the addition to our house. Then this so-called 'rest week' will be over. I don't think I did it right. |

I'm always on the other end of the lens, but this is the skiing class my daughters were in. We had 51 students and about 12 adults in the Homeschool Ski Program, which I am coordinator of. You can see all of our other skiing pictures, and our crashes, in my Picture Trail albums: Skiingalthough, we could post pics of said training that would be good |

I am jealous of you folks that can ski. Skiiing is not something that I am any good at. The conditions here in NC are just not that good. Going down a mountain of ice is not a great way to learn. |

Yikes! Still last! I will admit I am a little behind on my running goals due to a pesky little ankle injury. I took about a week off and am going to test it out on a little run tonight. Hopefully I can get back on track after that. Looks like we have a little work to do, but I know we can do it!! Happy training this week!! |
