Oh my.  I joined this site just to reply to this thread.  You are internet famous for this now as it has spread to other cycling forums.

So....Master Yoda......What were you thinking and exactly when did you realize this was a failure?  Immediately after?  During?  10 miles down the road?  Oh where has our common sense gone???

1st rule.....never poop yourself.  EVER. NEVER. EVER.
2nd rule.......when you do, never tell anyone.  Especially the whole world.

Seriously, if you have bathroom problems as you say.....carry some baby wipes with you in a ziploc bag so you can get yourself clean afterwards especially during a long ride.  You don't want this stuff hanging around.  And by "afterwards" I mean after you've found a spot off the road to go.  If you're concerned about the group or friends having to wait, wear shorts instead of bibs so you don't have to take your top off.  Actually, don't be concerned about the friends since if they truly are, they'll be understanding.

Steve

Internet fame is truly a great honor to have achieved.  Is this now to the level of "Star Wars Kid"?

So that you're not covered in your own urine? That seems like a big plus.

If you do it right, surprisingly, you're not. It seems harder for girls than guys, though. A good downhill followed by a well-aimed water bottle can do wonders.

Bingo.  I'm not sure how you guys pee but I think "covered" might be a bit of an over-statement... ?  So you get a little pee on your leg.  The 1-2 minutes it takes you to stop could yank away your AG place.  Why risk it?  Just hose down after if you must.  Triathlon is no place for being squeamish : D

Back in college, after nights filled with soda pop and book reading, I learned to master the pee walk. Because it is so hard to hold it for and extra 5 minutes, after drinking so much soda, It was fabulous and impressed plenty of friends at that point. Well during my race, first tri, I was on the bike and said damn I have to pee and then spent the next 4 miles contemplating... Tooo Peee or not Tooo Peeee.
Went against it but then like a I waited till after the race, after cool down, after I grabbed something to eat, and then finally went after an hour long ride home. God I'm smart!

I did get some good laughs thinking what my fiancee would say after the race.

Thanks for digging it up, I don't know how you found this, its just as funny as when I first read it. I always loose it after the Hot Tamales, I cant stop laughing!
If you can find that picture of that runner that did this during his race wearing running shorts, that was good too!

I rode a portion of this infamous ride this weekend. I could not help but think of Paulette's comments as I passed a spot where her conversation started.

This thread has become famous outside of BT. I was reading in the off-topic section of a car forum and this thread was linked!

I just read this for the first time...pretty damn hilarious.

Reminds me of this story, similar in it's epic failure, about a kid with a new sports bike (the motor kind)... I'd tell you what happens, but I think it would spoil it...

THANK YOU for this post. It is the most hilarious thing I have ever read. My stomach is killing me from laughing so hard. I almost peed myself laughing! Should have read it while on a long bike ride...

We should have this permanently positioned at the top of the list, except that it might scare off any new people...
