Heheh I see lots of 'zipper' drills in your future.

Hey everyone- if you can practice changing lanes.  I found it took waaaaaaay more breath to do a flip turn under those lane lines.  I think in last year's race I only did 2 and gave in to wtf.

Oh and in other news.....I'm not moving to TX.  Prepare to be oogled by a cougar this tri season.

running - should be fine
biking - put in quite a bit of trainer time this winter. Havent actually been outside on a bicycle yet this year
swimming - training level low because of focus on running and biking. should be ok though since it is only 400m

This will be my first race of the season also...looking forward to seeing some of my old buddies from around here

Hoping it will all come together, the bike is still the major X factor, I'm pretty comfortable on the swim and the run.

That's a bummer! I am considering doing Deer Creek in June. It would most likely be a Sprint distance for me, as I would like to get one outdoor swim at the sprint distance in before I head to my first Oly this year. If all goes well that is...

So for all of you who have done this race, I have scanned over this thread and I see a number of comments about the hills. I have rode my bike up to campus from my house a number of times and I know that there are significant hills in that area, but I don't know what the bike course is like. I know someone mentioned a very large hill at some point, does anyone recall at what point in the bike course it is? I would hate to attack a hill really early on in the bike course and then be cooked. If it is at the end of the bike course it might be a little different.

It approaches......Aside from Ironman races it is pretty rare to have 20+ people from BT signed up to do a race, especially a local sprint race.

I am so ready to take a early AM poo. Truly a highlight of racing season.

Anyone want to make bets on the temp at 730 AM in Oxford Ohio on 4/17?

I'll sleep better tonight knowing that, thanks for sharing

I don't know what the temp will be, but I know what I would like it to be...

If this last week is an indacation, it could be quite nice, Like it was 4 years ago. High 60's in the morning and mid 70's during the afternoon. My thermo reads 79* right now.

it was 91 here today!!!!!

On a more serious note, does anyone that lives closer (within an hour or so) possibly have a couch or floor i could crash on the night before? my parents are almost 3 hours from there and i am not sure i want to drive that far morning of.

I can do bike tune ups, cook, or tell very bad jokes!

You can crash here if you would like. Queen sized bed and half bath await you in the palatial Bananatoes finished basement suite. Plus that is where the big TV is. I live probably 40 min away from Oxford (because there isnt any direct way to get there from anywhere). Just south of Dayton right off I-75. Only caveat is that the 3 kiddos will immediately seize upon the chance to jump on and wrestle with a new face.
