As of this AM I weighed 237. I am up from last month, but am committed to getting it down by Augusta. I will try to post here weekly.

Ultimately, 189 lbs. For Augusta 212 lbs. or less. I do not expect to reach my goal this tri season. Probably will take me into the winter time to get there. I know this is my biggest limiting factor. In NC the heat is significant and for a big man it is brutal. My run has suffered greatly. I also think I could get above 22 mph average on the bike if I did not carry the extra fat.

Well we weigh the same...  237 still for me this week.  I need to knuckle down this week as next week is family vacation so workouts will be sparse and bad food readily available...

Amen on the suffering on the run...  on the flip side, I am pretty bouyant in the pool    I think the biggest problem with the extra weight aside from the few extra watts it takes to move it ahead is the insulating factor causes my body temp to go up faster which means I dehyrdate faster and my pace slows...

Up to 134 this week,  though I did get some runs in last week.  We had lots of family in town so eating wasn't the best.

OK, Andy, since we are the same weight, I am going to post my weight via inspires to you every day for the next 2 weeks. That should help get you through your vacation. Laughing

I hit 233 this AM, which is 37 pounds down from where I started. First full tri coming up in September, and hope to race at 215-220, max. From there, we'll see where the off season takes me.

Nice!  What do you consider a "full tri" - is that 140.6 or something different?

Good question!   My only prior tri participation experience was last month as part of a relay (I biked). This one coming up - sprint distance -  I'm doing it all myself, so to me its a 'full' one .  Long term goal is an Oly next year

Or since he did put an exclamation point it could have meant to say 168?

Sorry I haven't checked in for a while.... I seem to be holding steady @ about 146/147, despite some serious training last week & being pretty diligent about logging my food. It's a little frustrating, but I suspect the weight will begin to drop again soon. This happened to me at around 150, I held steady there for several weeks, then suddenly dropped pretty quickly to where I am now.

I'm 144 again this week.  Considering the junk I ate on Sunday I'm happy with maintaining.

Oops, I forgot to report in yesterday.  After a weekend of gluttony including a bunch of popcorn at the drive-in movie I am up 2 pounds at 175.  I will assume that it will slide right back off quickly but still a little frustrating.  First time I have eatin popcorn in about 2.5 years though, it was good.
