Anytime I wanted to eat something I had to put it on a plate to eat it. No handfuls of chex party mix out of the bowl...or sneaking spoonfuls of cold stuffing out of the pan from the fridge. The inconvenience of getting a plate did limit my snacking....except when I broke my own rule! That is all I ever eat - 1 plate at a time - now when I go back for 2nd and 3rds well it is still just one plate I give myself an annual Thanksgiving and Christmas bye - I luv Turkey and refuse to sacrafice!!!! A good way to not splurge on T-Giving is to get invited for a miserable time to your sister-in-laws about 1 hour away. I'm half tempted to bring my running gear and just go for a 2 hour run. I usually have the SAME situation! This year, however, Thansgiving is at my house -but just with the monster-in-law and FIL (that I actually like ). Still, I'm planning a long run in the morning... The true test of my will, will be on Saturday of T weekend when we have a combined "Thanksgiving"/kids birthday party with all the inlaws. The stress of having to smile and pretend to get a long usually leads me to eat and drink way to much. |
